The National Weather Service will send teams to Madison, Cass and Adair counties today to survey tornado and storm damage. The results will be available late this afternoon.

"We don't have any reports of injuries," Kenny Podrazik, a meteorologist with the Weather Service, said Wednesday morning.

Reports of property damage are coming in from areas all along the path of the storms. "We will know a lot more about the extent of the damage this afternoon," Podrazik said.

Multiple tornadoes were reported by law enforcement and other storm spotters, including an employee of the National Weather Service, who was following the storm on his own time.

Tornadoes dropped down in separate systems close to each other on occasion. One tornado was reported west of Cromwell at 6:17 p.m., while another one was reported three miles east of Cromwell at the same time.

Hail was reported at many locations across Iowa, some of it the size of golf balls.

One of the strongest wind measurements - 62 miles per hour -- was made at Carroll at 5:38 p.m.
