An object with a probe or satellite appearance hovered silently 200 feet off the ground above Ann Morrison Park, Boise, Idaho, and was observed by multiple witnesses from 7:20 to 8 p.m. on September 26, 2010, while it morphed into an "oval egg-shape" and then into a "slim boomerang shape" before disappearing into a cloud, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

A couple, their 8-year-old son, and a family friend were playing in the park when they first noticed the hovering object.

The reporting witness described how the object first appeared.

"It was angled on all sides. I noticed shadows on the side of it being cast by the setting sun."

The witness began walking toward the object and realized it was nearby and only 200 feet in the air and seemed to be shifting from side to side.

"It was shifting what appeared to be just a few feet from side to side. Not a rocking motion, but a deliberate shift with a pause and sometimes up to a minute in between shifts. It would also on some occasions move quickly from one side to the other. There was absolutely no vertical movement whatsoever."

The witness also described how the object was making "precise rotating movements."

"The only way that I can compare it to something that most people are familiar with is the way that gears 'click' in a clock. Only the sudden movements would go a 'click' or two in one direction and then one 'click' back. Followed by, for example, 3 right -1 left, etc."

At this point, the witness reflected on the only thing the object remotely resembled - possibly a satellite.

"I worked in the aviation field for 11 years before moving to Boise and I am very familiar with airframes and propulsion systems. The only thing that man has in the air that could even remotely resemble this object would be a satellite and even that bears very little resemblance to this object."

Still watching the object, the witness continued to describe it.

"It was pewter in color with a bit of a shine on it. There were black markings on the object. There were also two circular patterns (?) on either side of it. There was no sound."

After 20 minutes of observation, the man, his son, and his friend, began walking toward the object. They continued to a point where they were directly underneath the object, and they stood there for five minutes. During this time, they watched the object make a complete rotation while standing in place.

"While standing there, the object made a split second 360 degree rotation. This happened from a still position and immediately following the rotation, was dead still again."

They continued to walk until they were now 20 yards behind the object and realized that it looked different from the other side.

"The craft wasn't symmetric on all sides. The sides of the craft seemed to be the same, but what I refer to as the 'front and back' of the craft are only relative to what it seemed to be. The 'front and back' of the craft were not the same. It had different angles on these sides."

The group then continued walking again and returned to their original observation position.

The witness then reported, "That is when things started to get creepy." He reports that an "orange-white" light came onto the bottom of the object.

"As I am wondering what I am seeing, the craft seamlessly turned from this angled three dimensional shape into an oval, egg shape."

The object still had not moved, and remained silent, but this latest action caused the child and the friend to be afraid and they moved away. As they moved, the reporting witness reports that he kept an eye on the object, and that it changed shape again.

"This time," the witness stated, "to a very slim boomerang shape with the rounded end facing skyward."

The witness explains the timing between the shape changes.

"The time the object spent with the egg shape and boomerang shape was probably 60 seconds to 2 minutes. When it changed to the boomerang shape we again stopped and watched as it began to 'flex and wobble'. It still hadn't moved since we first saw it."

Then the object disappeared.

"At that point, approximately 30 seconds into wobbling it looked as if it disappeared into a cloud. I thought that was odd since the sky was clear for the most part. How did the object travel from 200 feet off the ground and seem to enter a cloud and disappear without any obvious movement?"

The witness explains the reason why he waited 17 days to file the report with MUFON.

"I have been researching what this could've been and it appears that what I saw was a 'probe'".

The witness also makes a reference to the quality of the images he submitted with the sighting report. The three images - as submitted - can be viewed here: Image 1, Image 2, Image 3.

"I am posting the crummy pictures that I was able to make with my cell phone. Zoom in and you can see that the entire time I was watching the object it appears, in the pictures at least, to nearly constantly change shape. The light that appeared orangish/white looks red in the photos. Many other people witnessed the sighting with me at the park. "
