Message: I'm serious, even my mom saw them. It was around 12:30am and I was getting ready to take my friend home. I looked back to 8ball (my dog) from the side gate, that's when we saw them. There were 3 orange lighted craft. They were glowing a yellow orange color, like a street light.

They were flying from San Pedro, California area moving towards us. There was no sound at all and they were in a triangle formation. They then stopped in mid air over Wilmington.

From there, they moved east, southeast, stopped over Long Beach in an L formation. Then one of them flashed like a strobe light, but bright as hell. It lit up the whole sky. Then the second one did the same, but something dropped out of it. I already had like 8 neighbors outside and we even called the Sheriff department. To elaborate, 8ball is my dog. My name is (name removed) and I am 25 years old. I live in Carson, California.

Location of Sighting: Long Beach, California
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 2
Shape of Objects: Sphere.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was outside with my girlfriend having a conversation around 12:30am when a super bright white/bluish light started flashing and caught the corner of my eye. I said, "what is that"? That's when my girlfriend quickly turned around to see what was happening. The object suddenly stopped flashing the bright light and turned into a bright reddish orange color.

It had a sphere shape to it and was flying at a steady speed. My girlfriend said look, there's another one to the right and it has the same exact color, a bright reddish orange sphere. We then got back to the first object and we noticed it had slowed down, as if it waited for the other object to catch up. When they got close to each other, the first object then started flying forward again and as it got a little further away from the second object, the first one started flashing a super bright light again.

It was a light I have never seen in the sky or anywhere else. The object started flashing on and off super fast for about 5 to 10 seconds, then it stopped and that's when the object behind it did the exact same thing and both stayed reddish and started flying in the same direction.

Here is where it gets crazy, we noticed the first object was getting smaller. We knew it wasn't clouds making it seem that way as it was a clear sky night. So then there was a point when it was so tiny we found it hard to see, it disappeared for a split second, then it appeared again and as it did that, it went straight up into the sky. Everyone was shocked, but the second object just continued getting smaller and smaller until we couldn't see it anymore.

This whole experience lasted about 12 minutes and we were comparing lights with other flashing lights and that's when it got scary as other airplane lights flashed red and blue, but not orange and these 2 objects didn't change color, nor did they flash constantly.

They had a steady orange light. I hope someone else in Long Beach got to witness this sighting. I also read that on the 3rd of July, someone else witnessed something similar. I was shocked when I read about it because it was almost the same experience, hope you guys find it interesting, thanks.

I was laying down in bed when about 12:30am when my 9 year old came to my room to tell me there is lights outside. When I went outside, I noticed 4 lights in the sky moving in formation and then stopped.

One remained in position while the other 3 were moving towards the Long Beach area when they stopped. An airplane was passing by one of the UFOs when it started to flash a bright strobe light for about 5 seconds. When the plane passed the second UFO, then the second UFO started to flash the same strobe light as the first one did.

Several minutes passed when they repeated the strobe flashing again. I had a chance to record a few seconds of the strobing light on my cell phone when it stopped. The UFO's proceeded to move and separated, then they were out of my sight, but the first light I had seen never moved.

At 2:00am I went inside, myself I am 30 years old, my 9 and 11 year old sons seen the whole thing even until now. I can't believe what I saw. I'm just glad to read other people confirm what was seen the early morning of July 14, 2010.

I too saw the lights mentioned in this article. I am a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer. I was standing in the parking lot getting ready to end my shift when a fellow officer pointed to the sky due northwest. I looked up and saw an orange ball of light. At first I thought it was just Mars or Venus, but it was moving and in an odd pattern. Then we noticed 2 more lights.

From where we were standing in Carson, we noticed the lights some where slightly north of San Pedro. We watched the lights travel south east. The lights seemed to be following the coast line. As the three lights traveled they moved somewhat slowly.

There were 4 officers standing with me, one was former Air force and the another a former Navy SEAL. I asked them what they thought that the lights were and the Navy seal said they looked like flares to him since they had the tell tale orange glow and when they flickered bright white you could see pieces falling to the earth. But the odd thing to him he said, was that flares usually just descend and don't travel horizontally for miles.

We concluded that they were more than likely a new type of infrared flare being used that doesn't give off alot of light and is commonly used by the military with their FLIR systems. We also believe that they were tethered to choppers that would explain the slower movement and the up and down maneuvers you wouldn't see in fixed wing craft.

I am going to continue researching this because this is my first "UFO" sighting (I use that term loosely because I couldn't positively identify the lights). I have some friends in the Coast Guard I will ask also that might know if they use flares in such a way here.

If you do a YouTube search for orange lights in the sky Long Beach you will find the same 3 lights in the same pattern. This seems to be a common occurrence. Who knows with all the different military and federal agencies located around here it could be anything.
