What gets me is why does our Australian fuel prices have to sky rocket when we are almost entirely independent of Middle East oil?Because our Aussie politician are for the most part (not all to be sure) and have been fcking crooks for a long time (we're talking decades here) they don’t care about Australia or it’s people they have no attachment to the notion of patriotism, it’s alien to them, why do we give the gas away, Qatar get over 15 times more income from their supplies.
I wonder whether China and Russia will send their fighter jets incl. pilots to help out against the air attacks.AFAIK basically all attack are via stand-off weapons, no American or Israeli jet enters Iranian air space. I think the recent even of 3 US jets downed by Iranian S-300s (a.k.a. "Kuwaiti friendly fire") demonstrate that.
... I thought Iran has destroyed every airbase within 1'500 km radius!?Through mid-air refueling. Which is common practice for the US jets.
F-35 Key Fuel Consumption Details: ...You would need to add F-15s and F-16s, here those were the ones shot down in Kuwait. But they are designed for specific mission profiles, so I don't expect much difference in range.
Afterburner Usage: >15,000 liters/hour (supersonic). No need for supersonic speeds if you do not enter challenged airspace. Which very much applies here.
... and the Pentagon is already begging Congress for a $50 billion emergency top-up that is over three times Iran's entire annual military budget.War is always a mixed calculation. You always go into debt for during the war, and for it's expenditures. And you might profit afterwards by gaining (seizing) more than you lost. Or avoid losing even more - if the war is lost .
Iran's launchers are virtually all destroyed, missile fire is collapsing, they're running out .Does that sound familiar ?

The same must be said of the US who are net exporters, why have their prices gone up too?
The obvious answer is because these unscrupulous bastards can and we just shrug and pay because there's no alternative.
EV cars and trucks may have offered some sort of buffer but ridiculous prices have put them out of reach of all but those on a good income, then there's the sub standard technology of lithium batteries that thankfully has been addressed by newer vehicles but has so freaked out the buyer, that sales have crashed.
