Because it connected several former Eastern Bloc states, it was build by construction workers from many of those countries, including many volunteers. The older brother of a former class mate of mine volunteered as well, because the pay was quite a bit above average. And it was a rare chance to see the Soviet Union.
Russian oil flows to Hungary and Slovakia halted after Ukrainian attack
Russian crude oil flows to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline were halted on Monday, officials in Hungary and Slovakia said, with Budapest blaming a Ukrainian attack on a part of the...And yes, this pipeline was quite long, and it took years to finish it.
I was about to finish seconday / grammar school, and the class mate's brother had finished military (conscription) service. One had to sign on for half-year assignments, with little to no opportunity for home leave. But he wanted (or needed) the money, and there was a lot to see there. And home leaves in Eastern Bloc military service was equally rare for us conscripts.
As a side note, that brother bought an expensive motorcycle after his return, and had a near-fatal accident in less than a year ...
Re the motor cycle, check out Putins gift to this guy in Alaska.

The motorcycle involved here was a Jawa, I think this one : [Link] (only German or Czech ...). Here the Wiki site for the manufacturer : [Link] Yes and now. They looked for skilled once, but also took unexperienced volunteers, which often received a "training on the job". A lot of those went to build eastern section - in Siberia. A quite challenging ground - permafrost soil with lots of swamps in the summer.
A little bit of history from Australia, you mention the army, whilst I was in the army 1969-1971 an army mate of mine from South Australia used to race a Jawa single gear with a kickdown, no brakes on those things, by all accounts he was very good usually finishing near the top, we were stationed at the School of Military Engineering in Moorebank (Sydney)
One Saturday (my wife was away for the weekend)we went to a dirt track used for practice at Penrith about an hour away by road, I did a couple of laps on that beast, managed to leave the track and run into a barbed wire fence, no damage to me or the bike, a bit later however the mechanic from a visiting rider did have an altercation with a concrete roller (used to flatten the track surface) he was doing a couple of test circuits of the track, the throttle got stuck on wide open, rest to fully open is a quarter turn) thus very touchy to ride, he hit the roller, opened up a deep 300mm long gash in his chest, I never got to hear if he survived or not, all in all it was a pretty wild day out.
BTW this Jawa 750 is one of the best looking cars ever, what a beautiful looking machine.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jawa_Moto#/media/File:Jawa_750_(2).jpg

OK, it looks as though you have to copy and paste the link.
BTW, trying your link (about Putin and the bike), but YT reported an "error". Which might well be a local or company proxy issue. I will try at home.
But living inside the EU prison camp, the hatred and censorship of everything Russian here seems to know no bounds.
Believe me when I say (I was born in the Netherlands) I’m glad not to be living there now, I cannot fathom the hatred for the Russian's except to say there are way to many sheep in this world.
This had been the case at least since the 30 year war (1618-1648). When the economy fails, the ruling class (and/including the banking system) has sucked the polulation dry and bankrupted itself, they make out an enemy and instigate a war. Which conveniently cleans the slate by killing large amounts of debtors and creditors.
Europe is bankrupt, most (core) countries have a debt-to-GDP ratio above 100%, i.e. they spend faster than they collect taxes and take up credit. When this debt comes due, most of this decrepid and degenerated "elites" and their puppets will die, and violently - they know it. Taking and dividing up Russia was their only hope. Despite zero chances of success, they will most probably try anyway.
AFAIK, a contract between Germany and the Ottomans (Turkey), which obliged the Germans to construct a transportation connection (the famous Berlin-Baghdad railway) and allowed them oil drilling and exploitation in a 50km corridor of this railway played a significant role. The Brits, Churchill including had decided upon war a decade before it's actually started.
* - According to reliable information, the sun never settled over the British empire because God didn't trust that bastards in the dark ...
Thanks for the added info re the railway, I didn’t know that.
But as a result of this (pre-WWI and WWI) cooperation, many Turks migrated to Germany after WWII, when the new German
governmentproconsuls invited foreign workers ("Gastarbeiter"), because the male population was thoroughly decimated.A very eery parallel to the present - the Germans had waged war against the same entity as the Ukrainians right now. And didn't know when to stop either.
Germany is not a sovereign country. It has no constitution (I suppose you know the significance of a constitution), but only a "basic law", which was dictated by the Allied Command (i.e. the occupier).
And second Germany is explicitely mentioned, together with Japan, in the Enemy State Clauses of the UN charter. But Germans are not only brainwashed to hate their grandparents, but also to ignore these facts. Else they would not have worked so tirelessly in their hamster wheels for the welfare of the Anglo-Saxon empire and Israel.
On a related note, Israel has no constitution either ...
Re Israel,
In the last few days the executive director of the Israel Cyber Directorate Tom Artiom Alexandrovich,(and a few others) whilst in Las Vegas was charged with soliciting, luring a child with a computer for a sex act, he has been released on a hand slap bail of 10K by Israeli born (read Zio for this one) U.S. attorney general Sigal Chattah.
Here's a link for a bit of background. [Link]
To name a few names (for others, I think you know): Nuland (Nudelman), Kagan, Blinken ...
They often change their names, like Mileikowsky to Netanyahu.
The pretentious act of choosing the Netanyahu name which literally means "given by Yahweh, or God"
Him choosing the changed name say’s all you need to know about this crim....
By the way, it was not me who came up with the idea that the "god" of the old testament - and thus the god of the Jews - is Moloch. In fact, quite a few historians and church scholars noticed that in the 18th century.
