Trump did the right thing in his first term regarding H-1B.
As observed in Europe, this idea is pushed by large corporations to substantially lower the wages (and thus costs) for highly specialized jobs requiring a long and expensive training. And governments like the ideas very much, because they can cut education costs without immediate negative effect.
As usual, the longterm effects are devastating, as we can observe right now in the West. Declining competiveness, relocation of production, pathetic average education levels, declining living standards, rising costs, rise in poverty and crime, and finally political unrest ...
