"The State of New Jersey should issue a limited state of emergency banning all drones until the public receives an explanation regarding these multiple sightings."Gov. Phil Murphy wrote on social media platform X last week that there were reports of "drone activity" across the northern and central parts of the state.
The governor said he held a briefing with U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, senior officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the state's Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness and state police, along with members of New Jersey's congressional delegation, to discuss the issue.
Gov. Murphy wrote:
"We are actively monitoring the situation and in close coordination with our federal and law enforcement partners on this matter. There is no known threat to the public at this time."U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., posted on X on Tuesday his office has been communicating with that of the governor, as well as their "federal agency partners." The FBI announced Dec. 3 it was seeking information about the drone sightings. The agency said in a release.
"The FBI Newark, NJ State Police, and NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness are asking for the public to report any information related to the recent sightings of possible drones flying in several areas along the Raritan River. Witnesses have spotted the cluster of what look to be drones and a possible fixed wing aircraft. We have reports from the public and law enforcement dating back several weeks."The South Plainfield Police Department wrote in a piece published Monday on TAPinto South Plainfield it has acknowledged an increase in drone sightings across the state over the past few weeks.
"While it is not illegal to fly drones in unrestricted airspace, authorities are working to monitor their activity and ensure public safety."Some footage published by news outlets shows what appear to be flying objects with wings and lights.

The drones, based on their size are clearly government military. They don't appear to exhibit UAP speeds or maneuverability.
W hy now? Is China or Russia demonstrating they can attack anywhere on the East Coast with no USA defense? Or is it the USA government hyping the need for martial law to protect the USA and prevent Trump inauguration?
