...more than 200 former aides to George W. Bush, Sen. John McCain, and Mitt Romney have offered their full-throated support for Vice President Kamala Harris. According to The Hill, most of the group also endorsed President Biden in 2020.

In a Monday letter first reported by USA Today, the group reiterated their opposition to Trump and support of Harris.

""Of course, we have plenty of honest, ideological disagreements with Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz. That's to be expected. The alternative, however, is simply untenable," reads the letter.

"At home, another four years of Donald Trump's chaotic leadership, this time focused on advancing the dangerous goals of Project 2025, will hurt real, everyday people and weaken our sacred institutions. Abroad, democratic movements will be irreparably jeopardized as Trump and his acolyte JD Vance kowtow to dictators like Vladimir Putin while turning their backs on our allies," the letter continues.

The group called on friends and colleagues to "vote for leaders that will strive for consensus, not chaos," and said that "moderate Republicans and conservative independents" were what brought Biden his victory in 2020.

Comment: It is not surprising that these people support Kamala Harris as they also are servant to the Deep State, eternal wars and the imperial mindset. They never came out to bat for Trump and his MAGA agenda in the last 8 years as they simply didn't care for the problems of ordinary American people.

It appears as if the wheat and the chaff are starting to separate from each other all by itself.

Do we forget the Trump ugly? Warp Speed... Not speaking out against the genocide in Gaza - unconditional support for Bibi(dido for RFK Jr)...Advocating US tax payer money be put into the unregulated stock market called Bitcoin(dido for RFK Jr). When can we stop siding with political parties and finally grasp the concept that politicians work on the same team? They just give the appearance that they are fighting for us. And remember actors (like Trump) are showmen. This in no way is an endorsement of the democrats.

Regarding the SOTT editor comment. Here is the parable from the Gospel of Matthew:

Think of the tares as belief systems rooted in scientific materialism, Woke ideology, sex is what you choose, Darwinism, people as "hackable animals", Satanic ritual abuse and sacrifice of children, mind without heart, God as fantasy.

Dwoods44 Well, there is another way to look at it I think: Think of the tares as belief systems rooted in: Jesus is the only path to salvation (all you need is the Bible), Religious ideology(based on worship, and rituals, not understanding or awareness), Sex is only between a man and a woman after marriage (and for procreation only, plus boys should wear chastity belts until marriage, etc. etc.), Creationism (the earth is only 6000 years old), People as sinners who believe in miracles (not science), priests(or priestesses) abusing children, heart without a mind, God is everything(don't question it).

Dwoods44 Yes there is wheat in there. And not saying the Bible's version of "tares as belief systems" is wrong at all. The difference(maybe?) is only in the interpretation of the harvest and what is saved? To me the typical Christian thinks(and I am not saying "you"/Dwoods44 thinks this way): I am the wheat to be saved(Jesus died for my sins), thus, the tares is the other guy(unsaved)... In my purposely derisive to Christian interpretation(sorry I learn in dichotomies and examples of extremes on either end of them so push a lot of people's buttons! Trying to work on that ), each and every one of us living on this planet is a fusing of wheat and tares, all that is "saved" in heaven is the novelty of both the wheat and tares of us in this lifetime (if any). The best of "us" the wheat and tares "lessons learned" never left heaven (it is eternally there). That is why I keep pushing that we need to give up on salvation of "I" that walks this earth. That isn't what we are. We have a soul(at least some of us), but we are not a soul. Once we believe we are a soul our "progress" as "human beings" (believing we are merely a creature of creation) is facing continual upgrades/memory wipes/and reboots.

TBoris OK. As I have noted, I was not raised in any religious atmosphere, and my first reading of the Gospel of Matthew was when I was a sophomore in college. It impacted me as a teaching of being in the world. As a teaching it is insightful and deep and most people do not read it. It is not airy-fairy Christian; “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

For example, Jesus gives a warning about the leaven of the Pharissees which can be interpreted in a number of ways including self-righteousness, spiritual pride, and hyprocrisy. What is the nature of leaven? It is the action of a small amount of yeast that spreads throughout the bread dough. In the parable above, it is a seed that grows into the tare or weed. What is that seed?

My interpretation of the parable is bringing it forward to our day. In my view, the leaven and the seed are scientific materialism as seen in the Big Bang and Darwinism. In my view, real science and real spirituality explain the same reality. What are science and religion today; dogma.

...Copy that The trick (IMHO), is forming agreement/or contract on what that same reality is(through open honest communication/intercourse and mutual love of our fellow human beings). When I read the "Gospel of Matthew" that you cited above:

“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Basically it says to me that by being alive "now"/"leadeth unto life" (and being able to even consider these scriptural concepts for agreement) "we" (Dwoods44 and TBoris) have already taken that path(perhaps, have taken that path to arrive here "now" in the days of Noah "again" eternal until though God's grace says otherwise)? So here we are! What are your thoughts on that? Why do we need salvation for example(I contend we are already saved by even considering this and Mathew to me supports that)? Or worry about continued existence after we "die" and are separated from our bodies?

TBoris For science and religion to communicate, means they both are open to examining their beliefs and assumptions.

My understanding of "narrow is the way" is that life is an experiment. We are each individually given many distractions and cul-de-sacs that we choose and it is our ability to see that our choice led us away from ourselves that enables us to return to our individual path (I don't believe there is any collective path). For many, they simply stay on a chosen path that does not lead to self-awareness. The idea of lifetimes and karma then comes into play, you get better at making choices in future lifetimes.

What does it mean to be self-aware? It "leadeth into life". Be here now. Feel the divine presence.

In my view, this quote of Jesus from the Gospel of Thomas is correct: "When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty."

We probably are aware that the Shroud dating was the 1400s by carbon 14 dating. This interview discusses that finding, other more recent findings that point to a dating and geographical in the time near 30 AD.

TBoris You know more about the history than I do. As I noted, I was not raised in Christianity. What was interesting, was our exchange above and then finding that interview now.

What no science has explained to anybody's satisfaction is how a negative image was imprinted on cloth. We all know of a negative image on a photographic plate. The idea that a hoax was done in the 1400s can't explain it because we cannot duplicate it now.

Even worse, likely a divergence off the path Mathew speaks of above(and sure we have all been fools including myself). However, once "reincarnation" was/is no longer acceptable (according to Church doctrine and even worse in the "followers of Jesus" today). And the added insult that Jesus is God's only son....If we allow ourselves to believe it, then (IMHO) we are "stuck" here in the day's of Noah forever. Lets not do it!!
