PIT BULL ATTACK
A 3-month-old boy died from his injuries after he was apparently attacked by dogs on the city's northwest side over the weekend, according to police.

Officers responded to Bidwell Terrace around 1 p.m. Saturday for a report that dogs had attacked an infant.

First responded found the boy with severe trauma, according to police. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Police said two pit bull-type dogs believed to have attacked the boy were seized from the home, as the circumstances leading up to his death remain under investigation.

A city spokesperson expects the dogs will be euthanized once the investigation is complete and a court order is received.

No charges have been filed. Anyone with information is asked to call the Rochester Police Department Major Crimes Unit at (585) 428-7157 or email MajorCrimes@CityofRochester.gov.
