Earth Changes
The heaviest snowfall was expected in Buffalo, where the National Weather Service said up to 4 feet might fall in some spots through Sunday, with periods of near-zero visibility. Other areas could get a foot or less of the lake-effect snow, which is caused by frigid air picking up copious amounts of moisture from the warmer lakes.
Reports to the weather service early Friday exceeded a foot of snow along the eastern end of Lake Erie, with totals as high as 20 inches in Hamburg, N.Y., about 12 miles from Buffalo.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency Thursday for parts of western New York, including communities along the eastern ends of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. It covers 11 counties, with commercial truck traffic banned from a stretch of Interstate 90.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz issued a driving ban beginning Thursday night, shortly after heavy snow punctuated by thunder and lightning -- known as "thunder snow" -- moved into Buffalo, quickly covering the ground and roads. The most intense snowfall was expected to last through Friday evening, with more falling on Saturday into Sunday.
The National Weather Service's Buffalo office offered an update:
CBS Buffalo affiliate WIVB-TV said snow was already falling at the rate of 3 inches per hour late Thursday night with up to 5 inches per hour possible.
Chris Luft reported on Storyful about conditions late Thursday:
Administrators canceled Friday classes for students in Buffalo and throughout the county. Amtrak stations in Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Depew closed Thursday and will stay closed Friday, The Buffalo News reported, while numerous flights in and out of Buffalo Niagara International Airport were canceled.
"I want western New Yorkers to take this seriously," Hochul said.
Also ahead of the storm, the NFL announced it would relocate the Buffalo Bills' Sunday home game against the Cleveland Browns to Detroit. The switch in sites means the Bills will play back-to-back games in Detroit, since they're scheduled to play the Lions on Thanksgiving.
The weather service also warned of accumulations of 2 feet or more of snow in northern New York on the eastern edge of Lake Ontario, and in parts of northern Michigan through Sunday. Parts of Pennsylvania also were seeing accumulations of lake-effect snow.

Ken, Where's Ken, speak Ken, speak.Winternights3 - I could be wrong, but so far it seems most of the snow has been to the south of Buffalo and much of the city has basically been spared....Although, Orchard Park (where the Buffalo Bills play) has been getting hammered.......Still, it seems to me this storm may not amount to much.....certainly not comparable to 77.....but who knows if the band shifts to the north, then most of the city and surrounding communities will be snowed in.....weather......not easy to predict precisely for these sort of events....
Best to you,
Ken

I bet you if you and I were kids together, playing in the snow, or maybe sitting around a fire, that I probably would have on a whim tried to kiss you.....but maybe that is just an older man trying to project thoughts onto his younger self? The reality is, I probably wouldn't of, but I suspect I would have wanted you to try to kiss me! I suppose that is somewhat unfair of me on my end....who knows and who cares I suppose!
hey - why not think of it this way from afar.....and I hope your breathing is improving and know this - I have my stretching techniques and they may not be as symmetrical as the videos you shared about a month ago I think, but they are based on the same principle of balancing things in the body.....2022 ain't over yet and I'm looking forward to 2023. Seriously - I think things are going to start improving for all us - peasants mostly of which, of course, I definitely am one.
Best to you,
Ken
Thanks.....really....you know flux is part of day to day getting along....I have some days more tired or subdued and other days not so much....I'm striving for balance but I can't deny my own energies....if that makes any sense.
Truly for me.....learning new things and coming up with things for consideration is what makes it better for me.....
Now, I'm not so sure about the numbers the person is presenting in the video I'm listening too, but conceptually I appreciate the idea being expressed.....I mean things could go exponential in a good way just as easily as other ways.....good for the peasants and such...
So, it is good that you and I have met each other and hopefully it has been mutually beneficial....up till now and will continue to be as such.
So, I remember this plastic form we had for mixing snow and water when it was below freezing temperature and that took some practice to get the proper amounts of each, but then you could drop the cinder block of ice out, start another batch, and add water between blocks as you produced them - it made for a pretty formidable fortress of icy defense!

An Eye of the Eye I think his book is called.
Still, I'm sure you will land on your two feet and if I was there with you, I'd be happy to give your landlord former a piece of my mind.
Oh well - what matters mostly is the future Linda......
I'll be there with you and for you in spirit from afar.

Peace!

Tonawanda, Kenmore area, where I grew up - they ain't seen a bit of snow there whatsoever .... that ain't fair.
Oh well, but on 4824 at the Martin House rebuilt and designed by Frank Lloyd Wright - we gonna celebrate a full eclipse. I think I already invited everybody on this thread of communication, and really everybody is invited because on 4824 Buffalo (and Cleveland for that matter) is going to be the place to be to sense the eclipse most fully......I think Cleveland is in the ribbon of it, and funny, Buffalo is gonna play Cleveland this Sunday in Detroit of all places........ha, ha....the irony of it all is over the top after Minnesota Viking proved that the Buffalo Bills are the best all time losers so far ever in the NFL.....but it was a regular season game and the season is young.

Time will tell.
