Any Nation that forgets it's farmers will face famine. Lao Tzu.
I'm in central Ontario. We have had no songbirds this winter (since the middle of September) except the odd chickadee and blue jay. We would normally have birds at the feeders all winter, all kinds. When we go for walks almost no birdsong. We have some robins back now, but not that many. I've been thinking this does not bode well for food production, and now am waiting to see what the insect population is like this summer. So a food shortage was probably in the works long before the virus, and this panic will only hurry things along. Good time to go on a diet?

Comment: The coronavirus crisis, in addition to earth changes affecting crop growth, and the losing value of currency which is set to get much worse in Western nations in particular, have made the production, availability, purchasing and distribution of food - a MAJOR global issue the likes of which we haven't seen in generations.
