Older than Gobekli Tepe, ...Located on the Tigris River, Körtik Tepe to me provides part of the answer to who built Gobekli Tepe...and were they hunter gatherers? This site was occupied 12,500 years ago to 11,700 years ago, right in the window of the Younger Dryas cataclysms 12,800 years ago and 11,600 years ago.

I think this insight from alternative thinkers in the world of archeology and anthropology is interesting by Andrews Collins, it's a site in the same area as Gobelki Tepi, it has been dated prior to Gobleki Tepi, with artifacts shown.

In this video Andrew Collins and Hugh Newman investigate Nevalı Çori that was built around 8400 BC and was contemporary with the later phases of Göbekli Tepe. The site was excavated between 1983-1991 when the area was to be flooded by the Atatürk Dam. The entire site was removed and is now on display in Sanliurfa Museum in Turkey. It has intricate stonework, including T-pillars in the abstract form of humans like those at Göbekli. The oldest domesticated Einkorn wheat was found there and numerous statues, including a Vedic-looking head with serpent on the back have raised questions as to who built it. The settlement contains a temple and various other structures and was located about 490 m above sea level, in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, on both banks of the Kantara stream, a tributary of the Euphrates.

I found that expression interesting, "the heritage table".

And makes me wonder, is this just a benevolent enterprise, to show real history to the masses.
