A Royal Jordanian Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed on Monday during an exercise flight, leaving the pilot dead, local media reported.

According to state-run Petra News agency, the aircraft crashed shortly after take off due to technical reasons.

The killed pilot was identified as Maj. Ayed Ahmad al-De'ajah, the media outlet said, citing its source.
