The Sharjah Police have launched investigations into two cases of suicide and the mysterious death of an elderly man, all of which were reported in a span of 14 hours in different areas of the emirate.

The deceased are Indians and working in companies based in Sharjah and Dubai. According to the police, they were informed at 6.45pm on Wednesday about the death of a worker in his room at a labour camp in Industrial Area 4.

The police found the worker's body hanging on a cord from the ceiling fan. He was identified as Sandy K., 28, who was working for a contracting company based in Dubai.

His co-workers told the police that the deceased had been going through some financial problems.

The body was shifted to Al Kuwaiti Hospital.

In the second incident, the body of 24-year-old Raj L. was found hanging from the ceiling in a bachelors' apartment in Industrial Area 10.

An Anjad team was dispatched by the police operations room after it received a call at 8pm on Wednesday. The body was shifted to Al Kuwaiti Hospital and the police are questioning his roommates and the others who called him on his mobile phone.

Meanwhile, the police suspect foul play in the mysterious death of 63-year-old Ameen whose body was found in his apartment in Al Mussalah area.

The police received a call from a relative of the deceased at 9am on Thursday.

The body of was lying on the floor. The police shifted the body to the Forensic Laboratory for autopsy and took several persons into custody of the police for questioning.
