UFO filmed by STS-133 rocket camera?

Over at Youtube an intriguing new video, Feb. 24th, STS-133 Discovery SRB camera: The smoking gun UFO video???. The video contains great camera footage from the space shuttle rocket boosters and what could be an unidentified flying object, UFO. The Youtube video contains an analysis of why the UFO isn't a parachute. As usual, we believe it's up to the readers to ascertain whether the object is a 'smoking gun' UFO caught by NASA cameras.

Parachute

I would hate to burst the proverbial bubble but that is a dead on match for the parachutes they use on post-launch vehicles.

In fact you can see the parachute shape, strings coming down, and it is very unlikely a ufo would just follow such a primitive launch.

A Better question

Why would NASA release video of this...who benefits and why now...maybe to gauge public reaction to such a possibility, to further gauge how "Disclosure" would be accepted if they plan to do it soon? Or maybe just to draw up a lot of energy from people debating this one way or another? I get the feeling video releases like this are like an acid test, just to gauge public emotional reactions to what's coming soon...and with all the incoming EM activity ramping up, and things getting harder to cover up...Disclosure would be a good way to keep the populace in the "Warm and fuzzy state" regarding possible alien life, whilst Rome burns all around us, and act as a huge distraction from all the ongoing and uncontrollable (from the PTB's perspective) revolutions/awakening going on now planet wide. A good meme to divert energy and focus on the more important issues at hand, such as the sixth extinction we are all facing.

Sigh.

Bearing in mind that my perceptions are far from perfect. . .

This really, really looks like a parachute to me. Maybe I'm wrong, but for now I'm going with the following statement. . .

"Are you *kidding* me? This looks so obviously NOT like a 4th Density, John Keel kind of event that I have to wonder who would want to put this out there and why? Perhaps to make UFO research look silly?"

This is obviously a parachute

It is the parachute on the *other* solid rocket booster, as seen by the aft camera in this booster during a few seconds before its own parachute deployed.

You can see the canopy and lines quiver in the video. The canopy is a lot more full than a hemisphere and there are many parachute lines because these rocket boosters are heavy, even when empty.

Either (a) someone really badly wants to believe in UFOs and so has fixated on this as 'evidence', which is more than a little nuts because there are many more persuasive videos and eye witness reports and so on, or (b) this is a disinformation hoax that is meant to discredit more credible evidence and reports.

Whoever put this video up has taken it down again.

Either the owner's perception clicked and he was suddenly seeing parachutes for the very first time, (which I find hard to believe given the degree of editing and scripting) or. . ,

There was quite an over-the-top flame war going on in the comment section. Seemed kind of vile and generally crazy. Certainly not the sort of folk you'd want to be seen hanging about with. Anyway, when I brought up the fact that some wing of the US government had recently purchased hundreds of licenses for a software package designed to manage legions of fake IDs for social networking sites, the video was promptly pulled.

Coincidence? You never know, but it did seem curious to me.
