Wednesday September 29, our skies in Davenport, Iowa, were "invaded" by blinkies. When I say blinkies, I refer to these craft that are ejected seemingly from a craft that looks to be a large star, except for the fact that it moves if watched for a period of time.
The blinkies appear to be small lights that strobe and as they do cover hundreds of feet between blinks, hover, change direction, and a few other things.
Let me start off by saying how we noticed them, which would be hard. The average person would have glanced at the sky, saw a strobe or the giant star looking craft ,and thought it was an aircraft or Venus.
I have seen these before and told the friend I was with about them nearly 15 years before.
When we went outside to go to the store, I saw the star-looking craft hovering between the trees. It had the look of a large planet but was moving.
It had no strobes and was so bright I said, "Look at that!"
He said that is no airplane. Then I saw through the trees to the south horizon and saw a blinkie.
I said "Look, a blinkie," he said OMG that is exactly what you said it was.
He said he could never quite picture it but now he was sure that my story all those years back was true. We searched for a better vantage point, coming to the parking lot of the Quad City Times.
There was a lot of light pollution, but we saw the star now starting to hover over the Rock Island Arsenal, the worlds largest Arsenal, and we saw blinkies in the skies all around the horizon, maybe 15 at once.
They swarmed in every direction. Then we decided that we would chance going to a place with no light pollution, and maybe miss the exit of the light above the Arsenal, and it paid off big time.
We were there for about 10 minutes watching blinkies come in and out of view, but this place overlooks the Rock Island Arsenal from the Davenport, Iowa, side.
We were at Overlook Park at the top of Mississippi Ave. and Summit St. We watched for some time as the blinking, twinkling lights seemed to erratically move all over our towns. I saw some small objects coming up from the ground to the blinkies, but only a few times.
We live in the Quad Cities, four towns all together along the Mississippi river. After some time we saw a helicopter come from the Iowa side on an intercept course with the object.
The large, bright object incredibly turned into a tiny, little blinkie covered a mile in just a few blinks.
Then after the helicopter left it "powered up" getting 100x larger than it was at first. It turned into a giant, glowing sphere of white light.
It moved back over the Arsenal, hovered for a minute as if to say you can't scare us away, then I hate to say this part, but it reconfigured again to something like a jumbo jet with proper strobes, but was 3x too large.
We met 2 other people at the park. Well, one was my best friend that lived close to there. He as sitting at the top of the hill and when he heard us exclaiming and jumping around about the transformation, he said, "Are you watching the UFOs too?"
I said, "Yeah buddy!" still not looking at him.
Another witness came up to talk to us. I pointed the blinkies out to her. She saw the big power up too, but didn't really appreciate what she had seen yet. I got her number for reference. After things seemed to calm down, we went back to my house and I saw 3 more blinkies around the horizon through the trees, and I heard military jets from all around the town for about an hour.
I woke up the next morning and made a concerned citizen courtesy call to the military base, I was bumped a few people up the chain of command.
I blocked my number and wouldn't leave my name, but basically told the man everything I stated here.
I told him that he wasn't the first military person to hear of this, as a helicopter and jets were heard. The word pictures slipped out.
He begged me to come forward and bring the pictures and make a statement.
I told him I had already accomplished what my conscience told me was the right thing to do by telling him what was seen, but politely took his number.
Friday night at 7:45 PM I was on the way home and my friend and I saw a blinkie due west and thankfully it validated the story I had told him.
I watched that night between 7:45 PM and 9:30 PM as the same thing occurred, blinking lights moving erratic in all directions. I must have seen 30 of them that second night.
I have been looking at the skies nightly to see if they have returned again, but they seemed to have passed on.
Sorry about the length of time it took to post this report. I am a fan of this site and read it often.
I will try to make myself available in the comments for questions.
P.S. The pictures are terrible. They show blurry night shots of a light in the sky. I will include 3 pictures of the star-like object that hovered over the Arsenal.
