Location of Sighting: Elderslie Renfrewshire
Date of Sighting: 7th August 2010
Time: 23.02

Witness Statement: Happened to look out the window and saw a very large, bright yellowey orange star type of object - bit like a giant sparkler - not as diffused a light as a chinese lantern, which I think I have seen before. My wife witnessed this latest sighting too, as did my daughter, albeit only slightly as the light moved swiftly from north to south, fading as it got lost in cloud.

There seemed to be a lot of helicopter activity just after this but I don't think what we saw was a helicopter. Maybe it was just coincidence, or maybe they were looking for what we saw. Could it have been something burning up on entry into the atmosphere? Answers on a postcard please. PS my wife thought she saw it again about 20 minutes later heading in a different direction but from the area we saw it disappear into.
