That last video really gives an idea of how much is flowing out constantly.
I'm no engineer but it would seem they could (relatively) easily put a straw down there and get the oil to the surface. Or at least get a majority of it until they could come up with something. It would at least reduce the environmental impact.
There's the possibility that's not what they want to do. From what I've read before, it might not be as bad as the Exxon Valdez, but looking at the video's, I think it was as bad as the Exxon scenario within the first few hours.. and it's still spewing.. several days later.
