Location of Sighting: Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire
Date of Sighting: 4th June 2008
Time: Mid afternoon

Witness Statement: Went to the Friday practise day for the 2008 British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone. Stood about 30 metres south of the bridge over the Hangar Straight, for about 20 minutes, trying to get some action shots of the F1 cars. Didn't get much to write home about as far as the cars were concerned, but when I was going through the photos a while later, I spotted quite a few ufo's.

Now, I know that the airfield there is the busiest airport in the world on F1 race weekend, but the objects I caught on film are definitely not airplanes or helicopters (one of the pics has ufo and helicopter in the frame simultaneously and the difference is obvious).

I'll have to spread these sightings over a few postings, so keep watching.

The first picture is an attempt to combine a few pics into one to illustrate a series showing a distant sphere moving and fading from dark to light over a period of a couple of minutes. Pics were taken looking across the circuit to the West. The dark diagonal line in each sector is part of the safety fence and provides a handy reference to illustrate the movement. If this had been the only object I spotted and if it hadn't moved and faded, I would have considered it to be a tethered advertising balloon. However, it wasn't the only object, it moved and it changed colour, so it's unidentified. Looking at these pics again, it seems to transform to a shape similar to the object in the second pic, which shows a classic stubby cigar shaped craft. This appears on a couple of other photos too, which I may include in another report. Could it be the Goodyear Blimp? No. I've got a video of that and it's nothing like it, or any other gas bag I've ever seen. :-)

As with my two previous photo reports (see Harrow Hotel, Middlesex), these pics are small parts of much larger pictures, so the resolution isn't good and the contrast has been increased to highlight the objects, which would otherwise be virtually invisible. Helicopters and airplanes are all painted for visibility, these seem to be camouflaged.

More to come, stay tuned.
