A California witness reported an "odd out of place" object in the sky that hovered for 5 minutes before disappearing, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

The witness also videotaped the event.

The report does not indicate where in California the sighting occurred, and few details are contained in the original report.

The video shows a stationary object, but does not show the object moving away.

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If California MUFON investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update.

CA, January 2, 2010 - At home with my kid,walked outside to look at the mountains and there it was. MUFON Case # 21328.

Was at home with my kid and went outside onto the back porch and noticed a very odd out of place object in the sky above the mountains that face the direction of the ocean. The object was still and did not move for about 5 minutes and then suddenly it was gone!
