Location of Sighting: Worksop
Date of Sighting: December 31 2009
Time: not sure 11.45p m -1.30 a m?
Witness Name: Helmuth Osborne

Witness Statement: I was watching TV at the top of the house on the second floor. I heard fireworks going off so I looked out of the skylight to see the fireworks. I can see 180 degrees from the skylight. I noticed there were lots of orange lights in the sky. I counted 13 at one time although there may have been more at other times. When the lights were nearer to the house they appeared extremely bright. Some of the lights moved some stayed in the same place for a long time. I went downstairs to collect the birdwatching binoculars(10×25).

I continued watching with binoculars and I could identify some kind of structure(metallic?) directly below the light on some of the nearest visible orange lights although I found it quite difficult to focus.. On one of the the orange lights there appeared to be small white lights dropping from it. I then went and woke up my father and we continued watching the lights together for some time from his first floor bedroom window. We both agreed they were not chinese lanterns or aircraft and we could not think of a normal explanation for them.

When I was watching the lights through the skylight for a lot of the time the skylight was open and I heard no engine noise. I can hear an aircraft passing even when the windows are closed. When the lights moved they moved quite fast same speed as a helicopter or possibly a bit faster and in straight lines. On several occasions I had one moving east and one moving west at the same time in straight lines and at roughly the same altitude. Should you need to contact me or my father please send me an email
