Comment: This is just a sample of the many reports of orange, red, yellow orbs, flames, balls, spheres flying around the UK on Christmas day and night.

Location of Sighting: Warkworth Northumberland, England
Date of Sighting: 25/12/09
Time: 17:45

Witness Statement: Myself and my partner were traveling back from Alnwick on this very clear night when we saw a bright orange 'ball' in the sky in the west about 2 miles away. it wasn't very high by my judgment and was moving towards us in a straight line. The object then turned south and by this time I had pulled over and used some binoculars I had in the car to look at the object. It was moving fairly slowly and had turned south to follow the coast line. Through the binoculars I could see an orange ball of flame with a trail that you would see on animations of comets as if the front edge was forcing its way through the atmosphere and leaving a cone shaped trail behind it. It was and I repeat was not a plane of any kind I have ever seen and the body of the object was spherical and looked like traditional flames would look. In simple terms it was a ball of fire. the object then moved vertically up very fast and went into a small cloud which was about the only one in the sky and as far as we could see it never re appeared even though we watched for a further 10 minutes. it was mesmerising to say the least.

About 2 hours later we had to travel down the coast to visit my brother at Cullercoats who lived right on the point of the harbour cliffs. As we were leaving and getting into our car at about19:45 he shouted to me and asked what that was in the sky and I could not believe it but the same object was in the western sky at about 1 mile away. before i could tell him of our previous encounter it climbed rapidly into a cloud and did not re appear. I am mystified by the encounter and would love to know if it appeared on anyones radar as we are only a short distance from Newcastle airport. Is there any facility for reporting such instances officially ?

Location of Sighting: Prittlewell, England
Date of Sighting: 25/12/2009
Time: 21.25

Witness Statement: (I live under the Southend Airport flight paths and there was no activity in the sky at this time)I had just gone outside for a cigarette and something in the sky caught my eye,Ii looked up and saw two objects moving faster than an aircraft with an orange glow from the rear flew past high over my house and then appeared to merge into one before disappearing at high speed. I called a couple of my guests outside to see them and as we watched three more appeared from the direction of Southend Airport and flew towards Southend they had what looked like a triangular shape with a pulsing glow from the rear my son also said he saw three disc shape objects fly past his window at about the same time

Location of Sighting: Norwich, Norfolk, England
Date of Sighting: 25/12/2009
Time: 17.30

Witness Statement: Three intense orange lights in a line traveling at very high speed. The three lights then slowed and remained static for about five seconds and then changed from a horizontal to a vertical line and then back to horizontal and sped off at an incredible speed.

Living in Norfolk I am very used to seeing fighter jets at both day and night time and being two miles from the airport am certain due to the brightness of the lights and their speed these were certainly something different. ( not aircraft or helicopters)

This event was also witnessed by my brother.

Location of Sighting: Aberdeen, Scotland
Date of Sighting: 25.12..09
Time: 5.20 pm

Witness Statement: Was out having a cigarette in the back garden. Huge bright orange light was tracking across the sky. It had things sticking out of it. It moved across the sky for several minutes before disappearing. Our neighbour saw it as well and friends who had been visiting parent also saw it, all at different times. Our neighbour had seen 3 earlier on in the day - in daylight flying in formation over Ferryhill in Aberdeen. Anyone else seen this?

Location of Sighting: high beach. Essex, England
Date of Sighting: 25th December 2009
Time: between 5.30 and 6pm

Witness Statement: I had gone over to feed my horse as usual and had him tied up outside, when I came out of his stable he was staring up in the sky. I looked up and saw an orange light moving across the sky in front of me it was joined by another one about 10 seconds after. The first one stopped and the second one caught up with it. Then they moved together across open fields. I watched till they disappeared then I saw 3 more one after another orange glowing objects moving across sky. I watched them as I walked home. One of them moved back and forth and the others moved in different directions again across open fields side by side.

I am used to helicopters and planes passing overhead and these were nothing like that.

Location of Sighting: Feniscowles, Blackburn, Llancashire, England
Date of Sighting: 25th December
Time: 5.30 - 6.00pm.

Witness Statement: My dad told me about this sighting.he is an ex policeman,a realist, and does not believe in god! - you cannot fool him -at all -ever!!

He told me he was driving up his drive way,and noticed lights in the sky.he parked the car,and he and my mum watched for the next 20 mins or so.this is what they saw: approx 12 - 15 orange colored, oblong shaped(almost hot air balloon shaped objects.they crossed one horizon to the next,in approx 1 min. He said they were not planes ,helicopters,or balloons, nor were they lanterns, simply because they were too fast, and not a noise was to be heard.there was no wind, and was a clear night. They came from Darwen-ish direction, and disappeared over Witton Park Hills. He even rang radio >ancashire to see if anyone else had seen them, but no one seems to have done. Any replies would be most welcome.

Location of Sighting: Ramsey, Huntingdonshire, England
Date of Sighting: 25th December 2009
Time: Approx 23:00

Witness Statement: This area is often over flown by civil and military aircraft with two local light airfields only 5 miles away. We also have police and air ambulance support from Huntingdon hospital; it is not often we get a day without some flying and noise from aircraft.

At approximately 23:00 I was stood outside the house at the back having my last cigarette of the day and thinking about friends and family. The night was very cold and clear with little or no cloud cover, what cloud there was was at high altitude.

I often look at the sky as there is little light pollution and on occasion will see good star constellations; the house faces west south west and I noticed a small group of three orange lights in a triangle formation approaching from south by south west traveling towards me from left to right. As there was no audible sound of the approaching craft I assumed it was traveling above normal speed and I would hear sound that would give me an idea of the type of plane it was when it got closer. I can only estimate the height at between 750 feet to 1500 feet as there wasn't any reference point to gauge against.

The lights continued at the same level and speed passing almost directly overhead and continued in the same direction and I dashed to the front of the house and called my family to witness this as there still wasn't any audible sound. The lights passed out of sight after about 45 seconds as they were obscured by the houses opposite.

The most distinguishing things were the close formation of the lights, their distinct orange colour and the complete lack of sound, there may have been a very faint wind noise as it passed but I cannot be sure and the overall speed which I can only estimate as that of a military fast jet.
