Location of Sighting: Tiptree, Essex
Date of Sighting: Sunday 13th December 2009
Time: 12.30am

Witness Statement: I was driving from the direction of Kelvedon with my wife, as we arrived in Tiptree we saw five or six orange lights in a line traveling from the direction of Colchester towards Maldon. I don't think they could be chinese lanterns as there was very little wind that night and they looked to be moving much faster than if they had been propelled by the wind. Also at one point one accelerated away from the others. After we arrived home, about ten minutes later I looked out of the window and saw another identical light moving in the same direction.

I went into the next room to pick up my binoculars, which I reckon took no more than two minutes, but by the time I got back it had traveled so far that by then it was almost impossible to see. I don't know what they could be, I have seen chinese lanterns before and these just didn't look like the same.
