California - 08-24-09 - La Mesa - I was watching air traffic from my yard looking south at 12:30 PM, Wednesday, August 24, 2009. We live under the flight paths for Lindbergh Field in San Diego, and always have commercial jets overhead. I'm familiar with the landing patterns for both Lindbergh and Tijuana International having lived in this location for twenty-five years.
I observed what I thought was a white commercial jet moving southeast. Based on my judgment of international border location, distance and height of object, it was flying from U.S. into Mexico at a shallow angle. At first I thought it was heading for Tijuana International, but realized it was too high.
It also wasn't in the usual landing pattern for Lindbergh Field in San Diego. As I kept watching, a bright flash enveloped the object for less than a second and then it was no longer there.
Weather conditions: blue sky, no clouds. I considered possibility of sun reflection on tail section, but that didn't explain disappearance. Also, sun angle (almost directly overhead) made sun reflection unlikely.
I also considered the plane descending and turning, but it was moving in a straight line heading southeast when the flash happened. source: www.mufon.com
Florida - 08-24-09 - This report is being made by State Section Director, Barbard Delozier. Witness has asked to remain anonymous. Incident was reported to Delozier by witness, who is personally known by Delozier to be an upstanding citizen in the community and a very credible witness. Witness described occurrence as follows:
Witness walks through his quiet neighborhood every night before retiring. Sometimes, his wife walks with him. On Monday, August 24, 2009, he was by himself.
Witness was walking near Brake Park in the Highlandview section of Port Saint Joe, at approximately 10:30 PM. Out of the corner of his eye, he 'thought' he saw a low flying plane approaching him from the southeast. Witness looked in the direction the object was coming from at a very high rate of speed and realized that it was not a plane at all.
The object stopped abruptly about 75' away from him, and about 100' above the tops of the trees (150-200' in the air). Object stayed there long enough for witness to get a good description of it before it took off in what he described as a 'nano-second... just poof. It disappeared' in the same direction it was originally heading from southeast to northwest.
He said that object was much larger than an aspirin held at arm's length and was larger than a mini-van. Witness described the object to look 'like a mini-van without wheels' with three floor to ceiling windows. There were lights in the windows, the middle light/window being the brightest.
No sounds were heard, no beings were seen. He did not report lost time. No physical manifestations were visible on his face or arms, and he acknowledged that he did not see any bruises, blood spots, or injuries to his body after the incident. Witness also said that he was not bothered by loss of sleep or strange dreams, so far. source: www.mufon.com
Maine - 08-25-09 - I was riding in my father's truck, on the way to bring my boyfriend home. Driving along, up in the sky I noticed a very bright ball, bigger than the stars. It was blinking a bit, like a plane at night, but I couldn't make out any shape, and it didn't appear to be moving.
As the truck got closer, there was a moment when the object went out of sight, and I looked out the back window hoping to get a better view, but it was gone. It must have disappeared when it went out of sight over the truck, so I didn't see how it disappeared.
No one else appeared to notice it, and I didn't give the object much thought until it disappeared. By then, I felt weird mentioning it, so I just kept quiet. When I arrived home, there was another bright flash in the sky like a beam of light, and that is the extent of my sighting. source: www.mufon.com
Missouri - 08-13-09 - My dogs were stirring around 4:00 AM, which usually means they have to go out. I let them out, not paying much attention to my surroundings. I then looked to the west. There's a tree line about 300 hundred yards from my home.
I saw a perfectly round, amber colored object just hanging there, just slightly below the tree line. I would venture to say that it was the size of a small car. It didn't move either, it just hung there. It quickly got my attention, trying to discern what it could be.
I quickly ruled out the moon or a street lamp, since it was above the tree line. It was not a solid amber color. There were some darker shades along the edges. Of course, I kept telling myself, it was my imagination.
But when I looked back up it was still there. It hung there for about 5 minutes, without moving. I turned around and let my dogs back inside. When I turned back around from inside the house it had gone. source: www.mufon.com
