Date of Sighting: 28/08/2009
Time: approx 11.45pm

Witness Statement: I was on my own for the evening as my husband was away with my son on his stag night. I had just completed my workout & went into the garden for a cool down at approx 11.45pm. I had previously noticed through out the evening through my conservatory window that the North star was extremely bright & had expected the sky to be clear due to this. As I stepped out the Star was covered by a large fast moving cloud. I waited for the cloud to disperse so I could have a look at the star & was surprised to see that the sky was full of clouds with the odd spaces between.

I waited for a bit & did a 360 degree looking around the sky & could see twinkling of far off stars in between the gaps & the odd one or two that were moving which I assumed were commercial night flights. Now I need to tell you that I should wear contacts & didn't have any in at the time (there is a point to this comment which I will come to further on when relevant) there was nothing much eventful to see & as it was quite cool, I started to return to the conservatory to watch for the visibility of the north star at the door once the clouds had cleared. The star became visible & I noted that it was where it should be & hadn't moved from the position it had been five mins ago. Then I got the biggest shock of my life. Where the clouds had moved passed the star & were further to the north, between that cloud & one further north in the gap of these two was the biggest white circular object with 5 large round lights underneath.

It shot from behind one cloud & darted to get behind the other cloud in front. I couldn't believe my eyes!!! This thing was massive. Now there was numerous things that confused me. One was that I have always expected that if I was ever to see a ufo that it would be in the form of lights far off in the distance in the sky & that it would be moving at a speed or move differently to that we expect planes to move which would suggest that it was a ufo. Although it was only visible to me for a matter of seconds before it disappeared into the thick cloud I was in shock as to how I could see it so clearly (it was perfectly round & pure white in colour with 5 large white round lights which circled the whole of the bottom of the object ) considering I had no contacts in, I couldn't understand how clear I could see it. The shear size of this thing was overwhelming.

Another thing that confused me was I have nearly always read that any noise related to ufo sightings is either an electrical humming sound or an eerie silence, now although there was no noise at the actual time of the "sighting" approx a minute later I heard the noise that you normally hear after a plane has flown overhead. Now there is no way this thing was a plane as I saw it as clear as day, maybe the noise came from another plane in the vicinity at the same ??? I have previously seen a video on you tube that the object looked like & was so oversized to the landscape that I thought it was a definite fake & was digitally designed as did many other viewers who left comments but this video was probably the closest thing that I can think of that would resemble what I saw last night.

It seems so absurd that I am trying to convince myself today that it couldn't have happened the way I saw it but I know for sure that it did!!!! Oh one more thing to add to the confusion, tonight I expected to find what I believed was to be the North star, positioned relatively in the same position as last night & as the weather & night sky is very much the same tonight, (with clear visibility in that area) but I cannot locate it anywhere!!
