Could Romney Marsh be the site of an alien encounter of the first kind?

According to reports from an Ashford motorist it would appear so.

It was a dark but clear summer's night when Martin Seare, 31, noticed a strange light in the sky as he was driving along A2070 near Snave last month.

It was the start of an encounter which he believes caused his car to stall, gave him a strange pain in his neck and caused him to experience a loss of time.

As soon as Mr Seare noticed the light, he thought there was something strange about it.

He said: " It looked like a super bright halogen bulb but its colour was almost a blue or green. A powerful halogen light would hurt the eyes, but this did not, it was just very, bright.

"At first look I assumed it was a light on a very high pole but then I dismissed that as I know this area very well."

After making a joke to a passenger that it was a UFO Mr Seare began to take the incident a little more seriously when the light moved.

He said: "It sped from the centre of the front of the windscreen view to the right of the vehicle and stopped dead.

"I said we must pull over to have a better look and the Snave slip road was coming up to my right so I indicated and pulled in slowly.

"As the car rolled slowly forward with my foot on the clutch the thing began to move towards us.

'Incredible speed'

"I stuck the car in reverse and began turning around while watching the shape getting closer.

"At this point it moved towards the direction of Lydd at an incredible speed. It left a light trail which was really amazing but made me get back on the A2070 really quickly and towards civilisation.

"As we pulled out the car juddered and seemed to fail as if my battery was low. We looked up at the time and it was 10.55pm which was very puzzling as we maybe spent two minutes in the lay-by and this left 23 minutes unaccounted for."

Mr Seare also believes the encounter could be responsible for him experiencing a rash at the base of his neck which lasted for two days after the encounter.

Mr Seare reported the incident to the police and to the British UFO Research Association.
