Start up company Zillion TV promised to soon release a service that offers customers who had enough of cable and satellite TV, TV over the Internet.

Zillion TV already signed more than 40 deals with major Hollywood movie studios and TV networks such as Disney, 20th Century Fox Television, NBC Universal and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. This is one of the most important factors in the equation because the deals give content owners the chance to make some advertising bucks from their films or TV shows.

The Sunnyvale new company said it will launch the new device by the end of 2009 and vowed it will deliver ad-supported and paid movies and television shows directly to a TV through Wifi. Zillion TV execs said they believe they can make everyone happy, including content owners, with their new device and the service it offers. Well...it better be. Or it won't last.

The Zillion set box will reportedly sell for $50 and is able to also stream HD (high definition) video content from studios via special lanes of Internet. Zillion TV's CEO, Mitch Berman, said that it managed to reach this point after numerous attempts in the paid television industry.

"You're sitting in front of someone who, for 27 years, has been doing television," Mr. Berman told wired.com.

Mr. Berman said the other video-on-demand businesses aren't successful because they do not properly mix the Hollywood-level content and good user interface and also the inclusion of all the actors in the equation: advertisers, content providers, ISPs and consumers.

If this works, it won't be long until we enter a new TV era. In fact, we may be entering it next year
