During a meeting of the committee of DFW airport's board of directors, and interruption causes the meeting to dismiss early for a mandatory evacuation of the two-story building.

During the noon hour, it was reported that there was a number of complaints of a "suspicious" odor. DFW Airport administration employees were permitted to return to work on Tuesday following an investigation of the odor.

According to the Dallas Morning News, "The front driveway to the building was blocked by fire engines and other emergency vehicles. Employees and visitors stood around or waited in their vehicles for public safety officials to give the all-clear signal."

Around 1:15 pm CST, security authorities permitted workers back into the building. Even after the investigation and commencement of business, there was still a slight remaining odor. Security personnel utilized a sizable fan mounted to a truck to aid in ventilating the area.

DallasNews.com states, "Authorities said the source of suspicious smell was probably material put into the sewer system to alleviate a bad odor."
