Hedgesville, West Virginia - April Cline was a perfume designer for six years before giving it up to become a certified life coach.

She hadn't really thought about it much until about a month ago, just after watching one of the Democratic presidential debates.

That's when it hit her - why not design perfumes to compliment the presidential front runners?

From that humble beginning came Presidential Perfume, featuring scents created by Cline that represent Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama as well as Republican John McCain.

"Not that the candidates have endorsed these, but these fragrances are simply my idea of them - light and clean scents that have a certain appeal," Cline said.

"People are always saying that politics and politicians stink, so I thought this was a different - and better - way to look at them. This is the sweet smell of victory," she said.

So what does her Hillary perfume smell like?

"Hillary is a champion for women, a really strong female who will be ready to start on day one. Her scent is strong and clean, a delicate floral blend of jasmine, violet, rose and sheerest musk," Cline said.

Her Barack scent is a "clean citrusy note of bergamot and musk," she said.

The John scent features "notes of bergamot, water lily and lavender woven with cool greens and frosty musk," Cline said.

Naming her fragrance line was also easy.

"It was like all of this was just meant to be; the way the idea for it just popped into my mind and how the name Presidential Perfume just sort of rolled off my tongue," Cline said.

Cline, who is also a Web designer, put together a site to advertise these fragrances. Public response has been good, with folks from as far away as North Carolina already purchasing the perfumes.

Thanks to this public interest, Cline has also added a moisturizing body creme to the line.

Each of her products costs $25, plus $5 shipping, Cline said.

Visitors to her Web site - www.presidentialperfume.com - can also check to see which fragrance is selling the most.

"Right now, Hillary is a spritz ahead," Cline said.

Ultimately, Cline would like to hear from the candidates and know that they have personally experienced her creations.

"Election years are always exciting and this has made it even more meaningful for me," she said. "I hope this will help others see politics in a whole new way, too."
