Ray Baumann, of Perth, Australia, spent three years building the 13.6 tonne Monster Motorbike, which boasts two Caterpillar digger wheels and is powered by a six-speed lorry engine.

The bike, which is ten times heavier than a family car and nine metres long, is the world's biggest, and is expected to be the star attraction at the Melbourne Motor Show later this month.

Dubbed the "Monster Motorbike from Hell", Mr Baumann has already demonstrated the vehicle's fearsome power by crushing caravans and cars.

Mr Baumann, who used to jump cars as a stunt driver, admitted that riding the bike was "dangerous" but claimed that it was nothing compared to the stunts he had performed in the past.

He said: "I broke a few records and broke my back a few times.

"Crushing things is well and truly dangerous - just not as dangerous as car jumps."

He added: "It could roll if we ran over a car the wrong way, so we still have to be careful."
