It’s all too easy to dismiss the villagers’ beliefs as primitive and uneducated – and yet they probably do have a good point. Especially since even the Bible mentions “Mark of the Beast” etc.
The problem is that – as was mentioned in the transcripts - when it comes to money, it is a comply or starve situation. Much like those villagers refusing to pick up their money from the post office.
They won’t be doing that for long, for sure. Such is life…
