An oblivious tourist was just taking photos of a picturesque lake and accidentally snapped a mysterious circular object floating in the sky above the water.

A weird UFO was photographed by a Taiwanese man during an excursion to Lake Dianchi in China's Yunnan Province in early November. However, John Chen, a 44-year-old salesman from Taipei, discovered a strange ring-shaped object with ridged sides and a hole in the middle only upon his return home.

Comment: Some of these sightings will probably be attributable to drastic changes in our earth's atmosphere, whereas the shape of this sighting does not appear to be organic at all. Also see:

Interview with John Alexander - UFOs & other phenomena challenging conventional wisdom

Dr John Alexander ufo researcher
Open Minds UFO Radio: Dr. John Alexander is a retired senior Army officer with decades of experience with a wide range of phenomena. Traveling to all eight continents, he has encountered events that defy common explanation. A psychic adventurer, he practiced psychokinetic metal bending, fire walking, and caused a white crow to fly for the National Academy of Sciences. A founding board member of IRVA, he is a past-president of IANDS, and former SSE councilor. Straddling two worlds, he is also retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory, and served on studies with the National Research Council, the Army Science Board, the Council on Foreign Relations, NATO, and was a senior fellow of a DoD university. Dr. Elisabeth Kรผbler-Ross headed his doctoral committee.

In UFO circles he is known for investigating and writing about the phenomenon. During the 1980s, John organized an interagency group to explore the evidence, with participants from the military, CIA, and aerospace industry examining classic cases, including Roswell; the Gulf Breeze, Fla., photos; and unexplained incidents occurring within the U.S. strategic defense systems (such as sightings by NORAD installations), and many more. He shares his thoughts and research on UFOs in his book UFOs: Myths, Legends, and Realities.

In this interview, we discuss his latest book Reality Denied: Firsthand Experiences with Things that Can't Happen - But Did. John shares personal experiences, including a UFO incident. We discuss other paranormal phenomenon, society's perspective on these topics and how they interrelate.

An Alabama man was dubbed a hero after he traveled two hours to search for a missing 3-year-old girl he found in the woods Friday.

Eric Gilbreath, 37, of Cullman told WHNT that when he heard Serenity Dawn Sanders went missing Thursday his heart "just fell out on the floor." Gilbreath knew the little girl personally because his son and Serenity have the same mother.

The toddler vanished after the girl's mother left her outside for a moment with their new puppy, The Cullman Tribune reported. When the woman returned outside, the puppy and Serenity were gone.

Comment: Google maps estimates the journey would take 27 hours on foot to get from Cullman to DeKalb County, how the toddler managed to travel such a long distance with a puppy in tow is a mystery.

"All we wanted was for him to get help."

These are the words of a Kayamandi family in Stellenbosch, who say mystery surrounds the discovery of their 61-year-old relative's body in a ceiling of an isolated area of the Stellenbosch Hospital. He had undergone surgery.

Father of six, Teteteke Gqotsi, was found 13 days after he disappeared from his ward. He was admitted to the hospital on October 5 after he underwent abdominal surgery.

The Western Cape Health Department said a nurse attending to him had gone to get clean linen and Gqontsi had disappeared when she returned. He was found by workers doing renovations at the hospital last Friday.

Chile reports: 'Patagonia is being visited by an intelligence we cannot understand'

These were the words spoken to TS-Digital by Patricio Frias, director of UFO Noise Patagonia. His group is devoted to the study and diffusion of the subject of UFOs in the region. In an interview, he explained the area is 'visited' by entities due to its high electromagnetic energy and mineral deposits.

Patricio Frias is a regional ufologist and director of the UFO Noise Patagonia organization, a group responsible for collecting reports and disseminating cases involving sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects as well as manifestations, chases and encounters involving these "entities". TS-Digital interviewed Frias, who explained the nature of his work for the organization and why the region boasts some of the highest numbers of sightings. He noted that "Patagonia is visited by an intelligence we cannot understand", while explaining that the phenomena occur due to the large amount of water and mineral reserves. As documented by UFO Noise, at least 150 anomalous events have taken place in the region.

TS-Digital asked why such considerable numbers of sightings occur in Patagonia, featuring such locations as Laguna Azul, which has aroused curiosity and been the source of myths and legends. "There is a biosphere reservation. This sight concentrates the greatest quantity of minerals and fresh water," he explained, stressing the areas. He maintains that many witnesses have seen lights descending into rivers and lakes to draw out "fluids that are essential for life in the Universe." Coal is produced in localities close to Puerto Natales or Rio Turbio, twin cities. There are places and geographical areas containing great mineral wealth and it has been ascertained that electromagnetic transmissions occur there," said UFO Noise's director.

Is Bigfoot a deadly mimic?

bigfoot/baby
© nj.com
One of the lesser known aspects of the Bigfoot phenomenon is the reported ability of the creatures to mimic the distressing cries of a human baby. Almost certainly, this is done to try and lure concerned people deep into the woods. Of course, the big question is: why? We could speculate that the Bigfoot are on the hunt for a tasty meal or several - namely us. After all, most people, if they heard an abandoned baby crying in the woods, would quickly seek out the baby and bring it to safety. Perhaps the Bigfoot know this and, as a result, are not beyond finding ingenious and sinister ways of drawing us to them - and for the worst outcome possible.

The small town of Ennis, Texas was the site of a brief series of such encounters with a Bigfoot-style entity in 1964. Those same encounters involved an immense monster, one which was described by the half a dozen people who saw it as being somewhere between eight and ten feet in height. Notably, nearly all of the encounters occurred at the site of an old, and now-demolished, wooden bridge that spanned a still-existing creek. Eye-opening is the fact that the bridge became known by the locals as Cry-Baby Bridge - on specific account of the disturbing, and baby-like, wailing that were always heard when the hairy monster was around. Fortunately, despite the voice sounding like the cries of a baby, no-one fell for the potentially-deadly ruse. All recognized it for what it was: an attempt to reel in the witnesses and for reasons that remain unknown. But, they were surely nothing of a positive nature.

Alien abductees encounter a mysterious liquid

Within the domain of the alien abduction phenomenon, there are a number of accounts of people reportedly taken on-board UFOs and submerged into mysterious liquids, or gels - as in completely submerged. Very oddly, and as the abductees state, the liquid does not prevent them from breathing normally. Researcher Helmut Lammer - in an article titled New Evidence of Military Involvement in Abductions - tells the story of a woman who he refers to as "Lisa," and who found herself in just this precise situation. Lisa was an alien abductee, but she was also someone who was subjected to what have become known as Milabs - or "military abductions." It was in this latter context that Lisa had a very traumatic experience, as Lammer shows.

Lammer says Lisa was taken against her will to what turned out to be a below-surface facility, in which she "...saw naked humans floating in tubes. Lisa claims that she was forced by humans into some type of pool filled with a golden yellow bubbly fluid, while other humans looked at her. Lisa has traumatic recollections that her kidnappers tried to make her and other victims able to breathe in the liquid. In two of the before mentioned cases the abductee was forced to breathe the liquid like Lisa. The hypnosis transcripts reveal that the liquid breathing experiences were traumatic for the abductees. Both abductees where totally immersed in the liquid and both reported that they could breathe the fluid."

Ancient astronauts, a government file and George Van Tassel

Glyph codex

Do agencies of government take note of millennia-old mysteries, tales of ancient astronauts, and archaeological anomalies? Well, yes, albeit to a degree. The CIA, for example, has taken an interest in the tales of Noah's Ark - or as the agency refers to it, "The Ararat Anomaly." The late Miles Copeland - who held a significant position in the Central Intelligence Agency - told an intriguing story concerning the CIA and the Dead Sea Scrolls. And, then, there's the matter of a man named George Van Tassel.

In the early 1950s, Van Tassel claimed interaction with extraterrestrials out in the desert near Joshua Tree, California. Van Tassel's visitors from the stars were said to have been: (a) extremely human-like and (b) highly demanding, when it came to getting across their space-laws and regulations. At the time of the encounters Van Tassel was living in the desert region of a small town called Landers - actually in a large, converted cave beneath a gigantic rock that, unsurprisingly, is called Giant Rock.

Van Tassel claimed the aliens told him that the Human Race had been molded, guided and manipulated for thousands of years - by extraterrestrials who posed as gods. Such was the fascination that the public had with his claims, Van Tassel was prompted to establish a yearly UFO conference at Giant Rock that - at its height, in the mid-1950s - attracted audiences in excess of ten thousand. The word was spreading. It even reached the FBI, who opened a file on Van Tassel in 1954.
