A feminist theater play with a telltale name "Salon Vagina!" expected to enlighten schoolkids about "the pussy" has caused many angry reactions among ordinary Swedes.

The cultural institution Skolscen sydost (School Scene Southeast), which organizes performances in kindergartens, elementary schools and high schools, has presented the feminist play "Salon Vagina!" to be staged in Blekinge County's schools next year, Swedish Radio reported.

The performance shows three feminist actresses singing about female genitalia while spreading their legs. An excerpt from the play posted on YouTube shows them chanting "pussy, fanny, muff, beaver, slit" while standing on their heads with legs spread wide open. "I want to call mine a canary bird. It's nothing unusual," one of the actresses says in the show.

"Our play is a peppy humor show about female genitals. It feels great to do theater for children in the upper secondary school, something we felt was needed," actress Malin Karlsson told Swedish Radio.

A Georgia professor offered her students extra credit to attend a campaign event that a Democrat gubernatorial candidate hosted on campus with Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Clayton State University criminal justice professor Andrea Allen offered students extra credit to attend an event on Tuesday supporting Democrat Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"Although I never offer extra credit, I'm making a one-time exception," Allen told students in the email. "I'm sure you've heard by now that the Abrams campaign along with Senator Warren are visiting campus tomorrow at 10 am in the UC commons. They would like a really big turnout. To help out I'm offering the following opportunity: If you attend, take a selfie of you at the events, and upload a pic to the folder I'm creating in D2L, I'll add 2 bonus points to your final grade.

Guardian columnist George Monbiot is the latest to decry Facebook's increased censorship after a video he made, on the crimes of European colonialism, was taken down by the tech giant.

In his tweet, following the removal of the video Monbiot wrote: "Here's our video about the airbrushing of colonial history, that @facebook has gone and airbrushed."

The video, produced by Double Down News, shows Monbiot talking to the camera, and is intercut with often gruesome film clips, as he goes through colonial history detailing atrocities committed by Europeans.

The journalist tweeted that he had not received an "explanation or a right of appeal." Going on to implore fellow journalists Owen Jones, Medhi Hassan, left-wing publication Novara Media and activist Peter Tatchell to retweet his video.

Feminism's dubious legacy: Almost half of US pregnancies occur outside marriage

unwed mothers
The data show such births in the U.S. and EU are predominantly to unmarried couples living together rather than to single mothers, the report says. The data suggest that societal and religious norms about marriage, childbearing and women in the workforce have changed.
An increasing number of births happen outside of marriage, signaling cultural and economic shifts that are here to stay, according to a new report from the United Nations.

Forty percent of all births in the U.S. now occur outside of wedlock, up from 10 percent in 1970, according to an annual report released on Wednesday by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the largest international provider of sexual and reproductive health services. That number is even higher in the European Union.

The EU likely sees more births out of wedlock because many member countries have welfare systems that support gender-balanced child care, said Michael Hermann, UNFPA's senior adviser on economics and demography, in an interview. Public health care systems, paid paternal leave, early education programs and tax incentives give unwed parents support beyond what a partner can provide.

The data show such births in the U.S. and EU are predominantly to unmarried couples living together rather than to single mothers, the report says. The data suggest that societal and religious norms about marriage, childbearing and women in the workforce have changed, said Kelly Jones, the director for the Center on the Economics of Reproductive Health at the Institute for Women's Policy Research.

The suspected leader of one of Spain's largest drug cartels has been arrested after turning himself in just weeks after he appeared to taunt police by appearing in a music video.

Francisco Tejón is the alleged head of the 'Castañas' cartel, in charge of a €30 million hashish empire between Morocco and Spain via the Strait of Gibraltar. He had been pursued by authorities since July 2016.

Tejón, aka "Isco," 39, turned himself in to authorities Wednesday shortly after appearing in a video for the song 'Candela' by Cuban reggaeton artist Clase A at the beginning of October. In the video, Isco appears drinking champagne alongside scantily clad women, driving a Bentley and dancing around a swimming pool. The video was uploaded at the beginning of October but has since been taken down.

Police in Spain are hunting a dangerous driver after shocking footage captured by a passerby showed how a speeding vehicle was used as a weapon in an attempt to knock down a pedestrian.

Filmed in Madrid, the footage shows a gray BMW vehicle chase down a person on a city street. At one point, the vehicle can be seen to swerve repeatedly towards the intended target as they desperately try to avoid being struck by the speeding motorist.

The driver of the car eventually gives up on the attack when his target manages to jump over a protective metal barrier. According to local police, the incident unfolded near the Arguelles metro station in the district of Moncloa-Aravaca. The area is known for its outdoor cafe terraces and Madrid Zoo.

A school in the Russian city of Perm, and its director, have been slapped with fines after a court found their suspension of a student, on the grounds that her hair was dyed pink, amounted to discrimination.

The hairstyle saga began last month after Zinaida Agisheva, 15, returned to her gymnasium from her summer vacation sporting a dyed pink hairstyle and a modified twist on her school uniform.

Describing her look as "inappropriate," the school administration ruled that she could not attend classes until she rectified her appearance to coincide with the dress code.

The suspension sparked outcry across Russia after a post by the girl's mother, a local politician, went viral and sparked an investigation by local prosecutors into whether the case for suspension amounted to discrimination. A court has now ruled in her favor.

Forex analyst predicts dollar to plunge 40% against euro

The US dollar could severely depreciate against the euro by 2024, says forex analyst Ulf Lindahl, chief executive officer of A.G. Bisset Associates. He says the greenback is entering the cycle of losses.

Since the 1970s, the US currency has been repeating a 15-year cycle of losses and gains, and the greenback has now entered the phase of declines, Lindahl said.

"When investors learn about the 15-year cycle, they are initially skeptical and doubt it exists," the analyst said, as quoted by Bloomberg. If non-US investors don't hedge against the dollar, they could face the"riskiest investment climate in 45 years," Lindahl added.

The analyst predicts that the dollar will fall to $2 per euro and 75 yen per dollar by 2024, corresponding to 41 percent and 33 percent losses, respectively. Lindahl notes that the cycle of losses and gains is a usual pattern for economy, investors don't see it when it concerns the dollar.

Facebook shareholders move to oust Zuckerberg as chairman...again

A group of powerful public funds have given their blessing to a proposal by Facebook shareholders that would remove Mark Zuckerberg from his position as chairman of the company's board of directors.

The state treasurers of Rhode Island, Illinois and Pennsylvania, as well as the New York City comptroller have signaled their support to the proposal, which was first filed in June by Facebook shareholder Trillium Asset Management, which holds an $11 million stake in the social media giant.

Trillium filed the proposal after a disastrous start to the year for Facebook, marked by privacy scandals and a stock drop. It called for Facebook to split the roles of CEO and chairman to loosen Zuckerberg's grip on the company.

The proposal accused Zuckerberg of mishandling the controversies, and called on the 34-year-old to step down as chairman. Trillium also cited the spread of misinformation on the platform and its use by extremists to promote violence in Myanmar as reasons for the proposal.

Australian govt lambasted after supporting 'It's OK to be white' 4chan meme as policy

A 4chan meme nearly became official Australian policy after the country's ruling party backed a motion that declared "It's OK to be white." The government claims it mistakenly supported the resolution and called for a re-vote.

Some 23 members of the ruling Liberal-National Coalition, including several cabinet members, voted in favor of a motion introduced by Senator Pauline Hanson - the leader of the anti-immigrant One Nation party - which lamented the "deplorable rise of anti-white racism and attacks on Western civilization," while stressing that "It is OK to be white."

The Senate ultimately voted 31 to 28 to reject the motion - but the ruling coalition's support for the failed declaration sparked condemnation from opposition parties and commentators, who claimed that the term "It's OK to be white" is a popular slogan used by white supremacists and neo-Nazis.

The government immediately went into damage control, claiming that it had mistakenly supported the resolution and agreed to redo the vote. Senators present for Tuesday's do-over voted unanimously against the motion.
