The values system dominating the West has "brought chaos," the Hungarian prime minister believes

Western liberal hegemony has failed and must be destroyed, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated on Thursday, suggesting it could end as soon as this year.

Addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC Hungary) in Budapest, Orban criticized the existing "world order based on progressive liberal hegemony," saying it has spawned numerous figureheads who are "not fit to be leaders," with even "beauty pageants" knowing more about peace then they do.

He accused liberal politicians of building "hegemonic ideological control to which everyone must submit" instead of actual governing, while turning "state bodies into tools of oppression." Such forces are a dangerous enemy whose time is coming to an end, Orban claimed.

Fanatical German Green party officials lied to push nuclear power phase-out

Environmentalist diehards reportedly manipulated experts' conclusions to fit their own agenda

Top-ranking German government officials from the Ministry of Economic Affairs intentionally falsified experts' reports to make it look like nuclear power was no longer viable in the country, Cicero magazine reported on Thursday.

Citing internal documents and e-mails it obtained via a court order, the media outlet claims that long-time Green Party proponents of a nuclear phase-out in high positions swept reports under the rug, or altered them, if they ran counter to their ideological convictions.

Following the disaster at Japan's Fukushima nuclear power plant in March 2011, Germany's parliament voted in favor of shutting down all similar facilities in the country. In April 2023, Germany's last three operational nuclear power plants were taken offline.

Comment: Encouraging news, but it could be a feint. The same regulations on censorship and centralization of power could still be brought in under the guise of "fighting terrorism" or some such nonsense. Eyes open!

Rafah operation threatens to be a 'disaster for Israel' - Former IDF Major General

Former Israeli army officer, Major General Israel Ziv, said on 26 April that Hamas' military wing is preparing an ambush to confront Israeli forces upon their entry into Gaza's southernmost city of Rafah, where the army's long-planned invasion is approaching.

Hamas is working on a "strategic ambush" for when Israeli troops decide to enter Rafah, Ziv said, adding that this would be a "disaster for Israel."

"The Rafah invasion poses a high risk, one higher than everything [Israel] did in Gaza, given the fact that Rafah is a very crowded place and difficult to fight in, as well as the US and Egypt's sensitivity toward it," the former officer said, according to Al-Mayadeen.

Comment: Israel did indeed fail in their war on Hamas in Gaza, however it seems that the genocide of Palestinians, and ethnic cleansing of the region, was also part of the plan, and, in their demented eyes, that aspect was a 'success' - of sorts; because, Israel's military losses, its collapsing economy, and its reputation in the eyes of the world, proves otherwise:

Somalia's government said it had suspended and detained several members of an elite, U.S.-trained commando unit for stealing rations donated by the United States, adding that it was taking over responsibility for provisioning the force.

The Danab unit has been a key pillar of U.S.-backed efforts to combat the Al Qaeda-linked militant group Al Shabaab. The United States agreed in February to spend more than $100 million to build up to five military bases for Danab.

Somalia's defence ministry said in a statement late on Thursday that it had notified international partners of the theft and would share the outcome of its investigation.

The US Secretary of State says Washington is prepared to impose more sanctions on Beijing over the alleged transfer of military components.

Washington is ready to introduce more sanctions against China over its alleged transfer of dual-use goods and components, which can supposedly be used by the Russian military industrial complex, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Friday.

Speaking at a press conference in Beijing following his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the US official recalled that Washington has already imposed sanctions against more than 100 Chinese entities and is "fully prepared to act" and "take additional measures."

Blinken claimed that China's alleged support for the Russian defense industry raises concerns not only about the situation in Ukraine, but also about a "medium to long-term threat that many Europeans feel viscerally that Russia poses to them."

US nuclear weapons in Poland would be priority military target - Moscow

Warsaw wants to host NATO arms under the bloc's sharing scheme.

Russia would consider foreign deployments of nuclear weapons in Poland a primary military target, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has warned.

Warsaw is in talks with Washington on potentially hosting nuclear arms as part of a NATO program. President Andrzej Duda reiterated Poland's willingness to host the weapons in an interview this week.

Moscow considers any expansion of NATO's nuclear-sharing arrangement as "deeply destabilizing" in nature, "and in fact threatening" Russia, Ryabkov was quoted as saying by TASS on Thursday. This applies to joint missions, where non-nuclear members of the US-led bloc are trained to use American hardware, and even more so to the permanent stationing of such weapons "which hotheads in Warsaw are talking about," he said.

Ukraine conflict 'a bonanza' for US military - NYT

The conflict has become a "laboratory" for the US military, a senior American general told the newspaper.

The US military is reportedly using the Ukraine conflict to test a new artificial intelligence technology that helps detect targets on the battlefield using drone footage, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.

Dubbed Project Maven, research into the technology was initially picked up as a government contract by Google six years ago, according to the outlet. However, after pushback from engineers and employees, who did not want to take part in building an AI tool for military use, the tech giant stepped away from the project, which was picked up by other contractors.
