mmmmmmm
A peaceful Sunday grocery trip turned into a nightmare in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, as a ferocious hailstorm tore through the city, sending shoppers running for cover.

Inside the Cooperativa Obrera supermarket, massive hailstones smashed through the roof as ice and water crashed into the aisles.

Footage from inside the store shows panicked customers dodging falling hail, ducking for cover, and shouting to each other "Tranquilo que estoy yo," meaning "Stay calm, I'm here."

By the time the storm moved on, gaping holes in the roof had transformed the grocery store into a soaking, ice-strewn disaster zone.

Northern Argentina is no stranger to extreme storms, according to weather.com meteorologist Chris Dolce, "This region is one of the world's most intense thunderstorm hotspots, known for spawning supercells capable of unleashing monstrous hail and even tornadoes, much like the infamous Tornado Alley in the U.S."

In fact, a 2018 thunderstorm in Argentina produced a hailstone estimated to be between 7.4 to 9.3 inches in diameter—which rivals the largest ever recorded on Earth.

While Sunday's storm may not have reached record-breaking proportions, its impact was undeniable, turning an ordinary shopping trip into a sudden brush with nature's power.
