Biden pledges nearly $3 billion to Ukraine in largest U.S. military aid package yet

U.S. President Joe Biden has announced nearly $3 billion in new U.S. military aid for Kyiv as Ukraine marked its independence day six months after Russia invaded the country. Biden said in a statement on August 24:

"On behalf of all Americans, I congratulate the people of Ukraine on their Independence Day. The United States of America is committed to supporting the people of Ukraine as they continue the fight to defend their sovereignty. As part of that commitment, I am proud to announce our biggest tranche of security assistance to date: approximately $2.98 billion of weapons and equipment to be provided through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative."

The financial package will allow Kyiv to obtain air-defense and artillery systems, ammunition, counter-unmanned aerial systems, and radars, the statement said.

"Today and every day, we stand with the Ukrainian people to proclaim that the darkness that drives autocracy is no match for the flame of liberty that lights the souls of free people everywhere."

U.S. military aid, including the transfer of multiple-rocket launchers and howitzers, has played a major role in helping Ukraine grind down Russia's larger and better-equipped forces on the eastern front.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, the United States has provided $10.6 billion in military assistance to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's government.

On August 23, Germany said it will soon ship more than 500 million euros' ($499.3 million) worth of weapons to Ukraine.

Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative:

Training, equipment, and advising activities have been included in USAI packages to improve Ukraine's defensive capabilities, such as marine domain awareness, operational safety, and capacity of Ukrainian Air Force facilities, as well as its lethality, command, and control, and survivability. To counter Russian cyberattacks and misinformation, USAI also supports cyber defense and strategic communications.^[2]

The USAI, in collaboration with the United States Department of State, supports a wide range of security assistance activities, including, but not limited to, intelligence support, personnel training, equipment and logistics support, supplies, and other services.

A lot of bureaucratic fingers move the hands of this war.

Reventlov - can't argue with that but the suffering they inflict has consequences and indignancy long built up and forming is more than formidable - it is unstoppable. It will either be them goes down or all of us together I reckon. I'd just assume some discriminate justice be applied and if need be I'll do it on my end. When they spend the currency of a country wrongly all faith is lost and being fiat is based upon good faith that means basically the us dollar is going to lose value and it could happen rapidly. Better ideas are waiting in the wings and those who bet with what they have no ownership or privilege or right to put on the table, when they dismiss the will of the People, well the days of that are coming to a rapid end one way or the other.

It has been found that 70% of the weaponry sent to that corrupt government remains unaccounted for. But that's not a problem for the US politicians who vote for the billions in "aid" because aid they are talking about goes to purchasing products supplied by weapons manufactures who help fund their political careers. So as long as Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and others get taxpayer funding all is fine.

I don't care if they die in this earthly life, but if they are sent away to live the rest of their days in prison it might mollify anger building.
