Buffalo_Ken 'Indian' fireweed.. does it not grow where you are?gonexploring - I will have to look into that, but I have made a purchase and I'll let you know what I think about it when it arrives - probably will be a week or two......if it is good, I'll have some in my Pub!
honey produced from its pollen is highly regarded
YesAllTruthHurts - good stuff. Just got me a pocket full of crabapples - literally...I'm mean it literally. Here is my plan. I'm gonna wash these and remove any residual stem and them I'm going to place them in hot water slightly heated before I call it a night. I'll turn the stove off and in the morning hopefully they will have softened up a bit. Then I'm gonna take them out whether soft or not and I'm going to put them through the ringer so to speak and one way or the other get any juice they got to give. I'll take that juice and then drink it straight. I'll let you know if I survive this experiment! So, just to close the loop on this, in the morning after I had boiled the crabapples and then let them sit overnight, they had definitely softened. Some of their juices leached into the water. There were probably about sixty crabapples give or take in the solution, they were each about the size of a nice cherry, and basically imagine what an apple would be like after being boiled and that should give you the "flavor" of it...they were mushy...I could have one by one squeezed the pulp back into the solution along with the skins and then disposed of the seeds without too much difficulty (the seeds may not be so " healthy " in the event they contain cyanide precursor as is the case for some apple seeds I think I've read before - [Link] )....then I could have boiled off most of the H2O and I would have been left with a thick liquid that might have some value.....as for drinking it, I tried some and it really wasn't that tasty, but I mixed it in with some other juice, so at least I got something out of the crabapples. Usually I'm fond of sour taste but this liquid tasted different somehow. At the end of the day, I think them crabapples individually are more useful in a sling-shot. Pull the tension back and let it loose and if that crabapple hits the spot, let me tell you - it will sting.
That's a "Lucky Bastard" situation for sure.Oh my God, that is too funny! I haven't even double-checked the song because I think I know which one it was! Ha, ha......
Researchers explain that because the famous fizzy drink has an acidity level of 2.6 on the pH scale and contains both carbonic and phosphoric acid, it "resembles gastric acid, which is thought to be important for fiber digestion."... [Link]And not to forget, metal etching ...

In the comment sections of those pork worm vids, people say things like "Oh!!! They're coming out for the sugar!!!" when it's obvious they're desperately scrambling out of the pork to escape swift death from the phosphoric/carbonic acid combo.Although this parasites are not a "natural ingredient" of meat. But some species are quite prone to infections, probably because of their diet. Less fundamentalist people argue that (i.e. the common infestation) is the reason the bible forbids pork.
Highland Fleet Lute - so going forward, I'm going to make an effort to minimise artificial sweeteners - like many things...up to a threshold, there may be no problem, but beyond that the harm leads to reduced sperm counts and such.Anyone concerned about such stuff should probably give Stevia a miss...
Stevia has not been universally accepted as being safe for consumption in the USA or Europe or other countries. This decision appears to have been made on many scientific studies since the 1960s showing that Stevia can reduce severely reduce fertility in animals. In males, Stevia greatly affects the metabolism and use of testosterone, the male hormone, and effects on male reproductive anatomy, to affect fertility by over 60% and also affect other general male characteristics which are reliant on male hormones.I'm still a bit paranoid about Aspartame, but from a reccy I did the other day, apparently...
In studies on female animals, Stevia was shown to reduce fertility by 57-79%, similar to the results on male studies. The effects on female infertility lasted for months after intake of Stevia was ceased. Stevia has this contraceptive effect as it impacts your hormones and hormone receptors on cells. The contraceptive properties of Stevia have been known for a long time - with early studies in 1968 showing this. Native tribes have traditionally used Stevia for centuries for its contraceptive purposes.... [Link]
Aspartame is metabolised in the body to its constituent amino acids and methanol, and one of these amino acids is phenylalanine. Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid, meaning it is necessary for various bodily functions but must be obtained through the diet because the body cannot produce it. Aspartame contains phenylalanine, aspartic acid, and methanol. Here's how the body processes aspartame and phenylalanine:When tyrosine combines with iodine in the human body it produces T3 and T4, which is interesting....
Aspartame Metabolism: When you consume aspartame, it is broken down in the digestive system into its individual components, including phenylalanine. The enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase is responsible for converting phenylalanine into another amino acid, tyrosine, which is used for various bodily functions.
Phenylalanine Uptake: Phenylalanine is absorbed into the bloodstream through the digestive system and is transported to various tissues throughout the body, where it plays a crucial role in protein synthesis and other physiological processes. However, there is a critical concern related to phenylalanine metabolism for a subset of the population. Some individuals have a genetic disorder called phenylketonuria (PKU), which impairs their ability to metabolize phenylalanine properly. For individuals with PKU, phenylalanine can accumulate to toxic levels in the blood and brain, leading to severe neurological and cognitive problems if not managed through a strict low-phenylalanine diet. Such individuals must closely monitor their phenylalanine intake, which includes being cautious about foods and beverages containing aspartame.
For the general population, phenylalanine from aspartame is typically metabolised and utilised by the body without issues. However, people with PKU, pregnant women with PKU, or individuals with other specific medical conditions may need to limit or avoid aspartame-containing products and phenylalanine-rich foods. It's essential for individuals with PKU to work closely with healthcare professionals and dietitians to manage their phenylalanine intake and overall nutrition.
There are two biologically active thyroid hormones: thyroxine (T4) and 3,5,3'-triiodothyronine (T3) (figure 1). They are composed of a phenyl ring attached via an ether linkage to a tyrosine molecule. Both have two iodine atoms on their tyrosine (inner) ring. They differ in that T4 has two iodine atoms on its phenyl (outer) ring, whereas T3 has only one. The compound formed if an iodine atom is removed from the inner ring of T4 is 3,3',5'-triiodothyronine (reverse T3 [rT3]), which has no biological activity.
Than you are on their radar now, too ...LOL.
Thank you for the Desiderata adaptation. I say it is uncertain, but i am not sure if a policy to ignore is best, because then all the bunk goes unchallenged. I maintain that option, thanks again.Depends though, doesn't it?
The only real change I see is the carbonated water. Carbon dioxide is sort of like the main hormone in animals, given that it is produced in one, or any, place as the main byproduct of metabolism, and then effects a function in other tissues in facilitating the oxygen dissociation curve.Yeah, I was just talking to Taarna about that, as per 'good' Scientologist Dr. Berg's favourite tipple... Highland Fleet Lute - can I interest you in a Cokie-Coca-Cola?i'd have a mexican coca-cola around weight lifting time. ivan tea sounds good, too.
(or maybe a new stretch technique?)
Either way, I like Ivan Tea.

Protein poisoning (also referred to colloquially as rabbit starvation, mal de caribou, or fat starvation) is an acute form of malnutrition caused by a diet deficient in fat and carbohydrates, where almost all bioavailable calories come from the protein in lean meat. The concept is discussed in the context of paleoanthropological investigations into the diet of ancient humans, especially during the Last Glacial Maximum and at high latitude regions.
The term rabbit starvation originates from the fact that rabbit meat is very low in fat, with almost all of its caloric content from the amino acids digested out of skeletal muscle protein, and therefore is a food which, if consumed exclusively, would cause protein poisoning. So, seems likely to me when the Aspartame from the Diet Coke is broken down into its component parts: Aspartic Acid and Phenylalanine, the body finds it very difficult to process without saturated fat accompaniment.
I generally have a mouthful of cooled down coffee (so the heat doesn't destroy the properties of it) and drop a few drops into my mouth. (I'm still at the 3 drops a day stage.)You're supposed to put it water, T.
I never know who to trust these days so if I come across something that interests me, I take it with a grain of salt and either research more into it or wait for information to validate itselfSure, but that's pretty much the same with everything.
No way of knowing. So true, for so many things. Some things it seems like you're endlessly searching for the truth in detail to give you a solid "yes" or "no" if all the information you had acquired up until that point was right or not. This is actually why I said that I've come to realize that there are points in time where the answers will present themselves (after your own due diligence), or you will come to understand that you need a new path.
So, flying tangents here. Since you also mentioned another magic element, you know, you can take 3g borax (about 11% boron by weight) and it'll dissolve in about 700ml (21oz.) water even at 68-80 degrees--essentially you could get it from the tap. You can drink that in one go and be fine. Borax is about as toxic as table salt(NaCl), and has myriad beneficial effects in my opinion.. The 300+mg per day should help to boronate the bones, which is supposedly like nothing else for reinforcement.Yeah I know.
Shouldn't go cussing, thought I'd bust your chops here about the rabbits.Oh I don't care.
Back about Diet Coke, there's issues about aspartame being neurotoxic, possibly causing headaches. I'd stay away from the stuffNo, I finished that experiment, and I'm sure my brain cells will grow back.
The thing about DPK or phenylalanine didn't make sense to me. I think it's got to be weird because of the non-peptide bond, so what metabolizes that? I don't even think we know.Well, a lot of the time with these things, they don't actually know, so they'll do something like wrap it up as a condition called "DPK" and call it a draw.
Back about Diet Coke, there's issues about aspartame being neurotoxic, possibly causing headaches. I'd stay away from the stuffAs a side note - as I've seen, Aspartame is chemically close to glutamate. Which is usually the cause of the so-called "China restaurant syndrome".
Donald Trump OK with 10-12 cans of Diet Coke per day for decades.I would attribute that to increased tolerance levels. Junkies need to increase doses, as serious drinkers need to, in order to achieve the same physiological effect.
Me OK with 30+ cigarettes a day since the late 1970's.
Chinee men OK with glutamate.I would check their food - in China, I mean.
I would attribute that to increased tolerance levelsYeah, could be.
Some people just can't hold their drink though, and some people do become alcoholics.I had experienced growing (and waning) tolerance to alcohol and coffee occasionally. Especially with alcohol. After being almost abstinent for some while, I need very little to get "nocked out".
Heavy metals is another thing. On a lot of those Greek islands, they're still using ancient lead pipes. My parent's house had some pipe leads during my youth, too. A leftover from former times, that got only replaced after lead (pipes) were not available anymore in the necessary quantities.
And I think I don't need to explain were the name comes from - I mean the "Coca" ...
