There have been many significant Auroral displays of late including the increasing incidence of chorus waves/gravity waves. However I'm wondering now if "Auroral displays" (as distinctly different form the chorus waves) is really an accurate term to describe them now. After doing some reading up and studying of the Sun's EM configuration on Donald Scotts website and a few other areas concerning the phenomena we see, I can't help but see a similarity between these intenses aurora filament displays and the Suns magnetic filaments, and wonder if the two are connected? It was said in another article carried under the "Fire in the Sky" topic heading that a, "magnificent filament of magnetism is curling around the sun's southeastern quadrant today", and it just so happens that on the same day, we have intense Auroral filament displays on Earth, "so as above, so below". So maybe it would be more accurate to describe the Aurora's as Electromagnetic Filaments Displays, as they seem to display the same type of filament like behaviour we see in the Suns atmosphere?
