Surge in loneliness one of the most tragic legacies of lockdown

Older lonely Person
Among the most insidious and widespread harms from lockdowns has been the atomisation of communities. People were virtually confined to their homes for weeks at a time for almost two years: threatened with arrest for going out, often too frightened to do so anyway thanks to bloodcurdling government propaganda.

Tocqueville summed up the consequences of such isolation:
Each person, withdrawn into himself, behaves as though he is a stranger to the destiny of all the others. His children and his good friends constitute for him the whole of the human species. As for his transactions with his fellow citizens, he may mix among them, but he sees them not; he touches them, but he does not feel then; he exists only in himself and for himself alone. And if on these terms there remains in his mind a sense of family, there no longer remains a sense of society.

'Powder keg waiting to blow': UK plans to build 1,000 portacabins to deal with prison overcrowding

British jails are being plunged into crisis as they face record levels of overcrowding, new figures reveal.

Shocking statistics released by the Ministry of Justice show more than 85,000 inmates are now locked up in England and Wales, with just hundreds of spaces remaining in prisons across the two countries.

Prison unions say the situation is a "powder keg waiting to blow", while a watchdog told The Independent he had warned ministers of the stark dangers of overcrowding.

The government is building 1,000 portacabins - officially called "rapid deployment cells" - in a bid to ease overcrowding, while doubling inmates up in single cells and accelerating moves into open prisons.

Comment: What are the chances that some in government will propose the early release of questionable convicts to deal with the overcrowding?

Will hack reporter Lesley Stahl EVER apologize to America and President Trump over Hunter laptop lies?

Leslie Stahl Trump

Back in March 2017, President Trump tweeted about Barack Obama's illegal spying on his presidential campaign in 2016.
POTUS Trump tweeted this in March 2017.

The tweet sent shockwaves across the fake news media. Hack reporters screeched in horror. They were outraged that President Trump would dare make such an accusation.

We now know that at this same time, corrupt leaders in the DOJ and criminals in the FBI were already spying on Trump. The Gateway Pundit at the time was already reporting on early proof of the regime's spying on Trump.

Comment: Interestingly, many of the tweets and videos referenced in the above articles are no longer available.

Retired Adm. Michael S. Rogers, who was head of the NSA under Obama, had the courage and conscience to inform Trump about the wiretap
On the morning of Nov. 17, 2016, Rogers traveled to meet President-elect Donald Trump and his transition team at Trump Tower, but didn't inform DNI Clapper about the meeting. That evening, the Trump team announced they were moving all transition activity to Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey.

Teachers unions swarm small-town conservative school board that dares to reform public ed

Teachers unions are focused on a small-town school district because their influence and control are imperiled by a successful conservative school board.

In the small Colorado town of Woodland Park, nestled on Pikes Peak's north slope, only 28.6 percent of students scored at grade level in math last year. Just 45.3 percent can read at grade level. So after taking over 18 months ago, the conservative school board immediately sought to recoup the learning loss.

But district leadership is now under siege — facing a deluge of integrated attacks from teachers unions resisting the board's reform efforts. As the local union awaited a "crisis" designation and funding from the Colorado Education Association (CEA) — which recently condemned capitalism — other allied unions were coming to their aid.

House Rep Elise Stefanik: Durham report shows 'criminal abuse of power' went up to Obama-Biden White House

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said that Special Counsel John Durham's report about the origins of the FBI's investigation into former President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign revealed a "criminal abuse of power" that went up to the Obama-Biden White House.

Durham's long-awaited report was released on Monday and concluded the FBI should have never launched an investigation into the Trump campaign.

As Breitbart News reported:
Durham's 300-page report found a damning conclusion: "Based on the review of Crossfire Hurricane and related intelligence activities, we conclude that the Department and the FBI failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law in connection with certain events and activities described in this report."

"Our investigation also revealed that senior FBI personnel displayed a serious lack of analytical rigor towards the information that they received, especially information received from politically affiliated persons and entities," Durham's report said, in apparent reference to the Hillary Clinton campaign-funded Fusion GPS "pee dossier" alleging collusion that the FBI relied on to investigate Trump.
The report also detailed how former CIA director John Brennan briefed former President Barack Obama and his top national security officials on the matter. Brennan briefed the Obama administration on the "alleged approval by Hillary Clinton on July 26, 2016, of a proposal from one of her foreign policy advisers to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services."

Comment: This magnitude of criminality began decades ago, compounding each time prosecution was subverted and justice was not served.

The working-class revolt against Net Zero

trucks
© unknown
Danish truckers are the latest workers to rise up against eco-authoritarianism.

Two kinds of road-blocking are taking place in Europe right now. In the first, the sons and daughters of privilege, people with names like Edred and Tilly, are holding up traffic to put pressure on governments to speed up Net Zero. If we don't cut carbon emissions drastically, they say in their cut-glass tones, our poor planet will be consumed in a heat death of rotten mankind's own making.

In the second, working people - farmers, truckers, cab drivers - are clogging the streets to put pressure on governments to slow down Net Zero. Or better still, scrap it altogether. If we don't cut out the Net Zero nonsense, say these people who make and deliver things for the Edreds and Tillys of the world, farms will close, jobs will be lost and economic precarity will intensify.

Comment: Provoking a global rebellion gives annihilation an excuse.

Mayor Eric Adams: Nearly half of NYC hotel rooms now filled with migrants

Nearly half of hotel rooms in New York City today are filled with newly arrived border crossers and illegal aliens, living rent-free at the expense of local taxpayers, Mayor Eric Adams (D) says.

Since the spring of last year, nearly 70,000 border crossers and illegal aliens have arrived in the sanctuary city of New York City — many bused from Texas by Gov. Greg Abbott (R). The figure represents a fraction of the millions of border crossers and illegal aliens who have been released into the United States interior or successfully crossed the border.

For months, Adams has been giving out lucrative contracts to the city's powerful real estate industry which is housing tens of thousands of migrants in hotels. Most recently, for example, New Yorkers are set to foot an annual $75 million bill to put up border crossers and illegal aliens in Manhattan's iconic Roosevelt Hotel.

This week, Adams said nearly half of the city's hotel rooms are now filled with border crossers and illegal aliens, calling waves of illegal immigration an "onslaught" that officials are struggling to deal with and demanding President Joe Biden spread out new arrivals to towns and cities across the U.S.

Comment: Better to demand Biden close the border.

Orwell gets street in Kiev

Independence Square, Kiev, Ukraine

The Kiev city council on Thursday approved the renaming of 26 streets, lanes and subway stations whose names were deemed "linked to Russia or its satellites," Ukrainian media have reported.

The Druzhby Narodov (Friendship of Peoples) station on the green line will now be Zverinetskaya, while Leo Tolstoy Square on the blue line will be Ukrainian Heroes Square. The Prospekt Pravdy (Truth Boulevard) station, which is under construction, has been renamed Varshavskaya, after Warsaw, the capital of Poland.

Almost two dozen streets and lanes have also been included in the renaming spree. WWII Soviet super-spy Richard Sorge and legendary radio announcer Yuri Levitan have been scrubbed, along with Russian poet Mikhail Lermontov and Marshal Alexander Suvorov.

Proletariat Street and Proletariat Lane are likewise no more.

Krasnotkatskaya (Red Weavers) Street - referring to Kiev's Darnitsky Silk Weaving factory - is being renamed after former British PM Winston Churchill. Orlovsky Lane, honoring the city of Orel in Russia, will henceforth bear the name of George Orwell, the author of 'Animal Farm' and '1984.'

Comment: Changing street names and subway stations will go a long way to making everything in the country doubleplusgood.
