Russian troops offered rewards for destroying NATO tanks

Fores, a Russian chemical manufacturer, is offering bounties to soldiers for destroying Western-made battle tanks that have recently been pledged to Ukraine by the country's Western backers. The news comes after Washington and Berlin approved deliveries of heavy armor to Kiev last week.

"Russian servicemen that destroy or capture a German Leopard 2 battle tank or an American Abrams will receive a monetary reward," the company announced in a statement on its website on Friday.

"Fores will pay 5 million rubles [$70,700] for the first trophy. The payment for every next one ... will be 500,000 rubles [$7,070]."

The company added that if Ukraine ever acquires F-15 and F-16 jet fighters, Fores would hand out a 15-million-ruble ($212,100) prize for the first downed aircraft.

The decision to transfer Western tanks to Kiev shows that NATO is not only delivering defensive weapons to Ukraine, which highlights the need for consolidation and support for our army. We have been doing this since the first days of [Russia's] special military operation and will continue to support our servicemen.

Founded in 2000, Fores makes and sells proppant, used by oil and gas companies for fracking, according to its website. The company's office is in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

On Sunday, Russian actor Ivan Okhlobystin, who is known for having hawkish views, announced a similar bounty on his blog. "Certain members of the big business community have authorized me to inform you that they are setting a 10-million-ruble ($143,900) prize for every destroyed Abrams," he wrote.

Comment: Don't expect those tanks, should they ever actually reach the battlefield, to last very long with such high bounties. The West seems to be solidifying not only Russian sentiment but also Ukrainian's inevitable defeat with every move it makes to support Ukraine.

In late December, Venezuela's leading opposition parties voted to oust Juan Guaidó as "interim president" and dissolve his parallel government.

This was clearly not the ending the UK government had in mind.

Four years ago, the British government made the bold decision to recognise Guaidó as Venezuelan president, and proceeded to facilitate his legal battle to seize roughly $2bn of gold held in the Bank of England.

Indeed, the UK government insisted at every turn that it recognised Guaidó - and not Nicolás Maduro - as Venezuelan president. In turn, Guaidó's lawyers argued that he was authorised to represent and control the assets of the Central Bank of Venezuela held in London.

Throughout this time, Guaidó paid his UK legal costs by drawing on millions of dollars of his country's assets originally seized by the US government. In other words, Guaidó tried to seize Venezuelan state assets with looted Venezuelan state assets.

Providing new tanks to Ukraine won't change the reality on the ground of the current conflict with Russia, according to retired Army Lt. Col. Daniel L. Davis, who claimed the United States has "no plan" or strategy and warned of the real-world danger of invoking NATO's "mutual defense" clause, which would trigger a nuclear war.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Thursday, Davis discussed the situation on the ground in Ukraine.

Davis, a Defense Priorities senior fellow and military expert, spent over two decades in active service, which included combat deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, and was awarded two Bronze Star medals.

Dr Jordan B Peterson laid out his plan to take on the globalists on "The Joe Rogan Experience," telling the podcast king in an extended interview posted Saturday that he is considering starting a populist alternative to the World Economic Forum.

Peterson told Rogan that he will be gathering a consortium this October/November in London as a kind of rival to the WEF. This group will discuss six questions pertaining to global philosophy and policy. While this first conference will be invite-only, it will be public, and Peterson noted that if successful, he would like to expand yearly.

Putting forward a "vision on the family policy front to facilitate the encouragement of and the maintenance of longterm, monogamous couples who are child-centered."
And discovering our "story," specifically as it relates to "voluntary play" rather than "the spirit of power" ruling.

Top US egg farm destroyed in massive fire, supermarkets were already suffering shortages

Dozens of food processing plants were destroyed and/or damaged last year by "accidental fires." After several months of a lull in mysterious fires rippling through the food industry, the first major one of the new year was reported by NBC Connecticut on Saturday.

More than 100 firefighters battled a massive fire at a commercial egg farm in Bozrah, Connecticut, on Saturday afternoon.

According to Epoch Times, firefighters spent hours extinguishing a 150-foot-by-400-foot chicken coop at Hillandale Farms, which contained about 100,000 chickens.

Comment: Taken together with the brazen attacks on farmers; the admitted plan to deindustrialise Western economies to achieve 'green goals'; the propaganda push to get people to replace eating meat with parasite-riddled insects - as just a few examples - it's glaringly obvious by now that there is a concerted effort by the establishment to destroy the food supply chain as we know it. The Associated Press Stylebook said terms such as 'the French' are potentially dehumanizing

The Associated Press Stylebook was once again mocked on social media after its latest suggestion to do away with terms involving the word "the" to avoid "dehumanizing" people.

The AP Stylebook's Twitter account, which usually posts guidelines on reporting, officially recommended on Thursday to avoid "'the' labels" when referring to groups including, for some reason, "the French."

"We recommend avoiding general and often dehumanizing 'the' labels such as the poor, the mentally ill, the French, the disabled, the college-educated. Instead, use wording such as people with mental illnesses. And use these descriptions only when clearly relevant," the tweet read.

Several Twitter users quickly swarmed and attacked the tweet for what many considered a ridiculous suggestion as well as an oddly-worded statement.

Comment: Joanthan Turley is more blunt:

It is not a gender thing so "thx" will not suffice. It is now an article of faith to stop using the article "the" in referencing groups.

It is reminiscent of Winston Churchill who was chastised for ending a sentence with a preposition. He responded by showing the artificiality of avoiding an ending preposition: "This is the type of arrant pedantry up with which I will not put."

Even the French Embassy responded with "Le" scorn.

By the way, if you are thinking of objecting to "the grammar police," think again. It will just establish that you are a dehumanizing monster.

What concerns me most is that this dehumanizing article has lingered in the English language for so long without being noticed until now. Even The editors of The Associated Press are shadowed with this vile, dehumanizing word. It is literally lurking on every computer and in everydictionary.

The only option is decisive action. AP must take its ox cart through the streets and call on people to bring out their "thes" for proper disposal.

As for any French people encountered along the way, simply refer to them as "people associated with the nation of France."

The AP's aversion to the word 'the' is not the only piece of language advice to make the news in recent weeks. The University of Southern California's School of Social Work announced earlier this month that it would remove the word 'field' (in the context of 'conducting field work') from its curriculum due to the fact that slaves and low-paid immigrants mainly worked in fields.

Europe's once-largest regional airline, Flybe, collapses

Struggling British regional airline Flybe announced on Saturday that it has stopped ticket sales and cancelled all flights, signaling a potential bankruptcy.

According to a notice on its website, the company has entered administration, a form of protection from creditors when a company becomes insolvent.

"Flybe has now ceased trading and all flights from and to the UK operated by Flybe have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled... If you are due to fly with Flybe today or in the future, please do not travel to the airport unless you have arranged an alternative flight with another airline. Flybe is unfortunately not able to arrange alternative flights for passengers," the notice said.

Headquartered in Birmingham, Flybe had been Europe's largest regional airline prior to the pandemic, carrying about 8 million passengers a year via 81 airports throughout the UK and Europe. It was first pushed into administration in March 2020 when the travel market was hit by pandemic restrictions.

The company resumed operations on a smaller scale in April of last year after its business and assets were purchased by Thyme Opco, an entity linked to US hedge fund Cyrus Capital. However, it failed to build back its business amid lingering effects of the pandemic on the airline industry and competition from more established low-cost operators.

Comment: This coming just after the UK has seen the largest year-on-year cost increases for flights since records began in 1989.

Energy giant warns of tight market in 2023

Supply issues will continue to affect the European gas market this year, due to the need to refill storages, as supplies from Russia are severely diminished, TotalEnergies СEO Patrick Pouyanne told Belgian news outlet L'Echo on Saturday.

According to Pouyanne, the current downward trend in energy prices will not last long.

"The winter is quite mild, the storages are full, Europe needs to import less liquefied natural gas (LNG). But the fundamentals remain there: in 2023, Europe will receive less Russian gas than it received in 2022. It will again have to massively re-import LNG, even though it has not yet settled its re-gasification capacity problems... And as Europe will need to import more than in 2022 when it received Russian gas for about half the year, the situation will become tense again," he warned.

The global LNG market already experienced a "violent shock" last year, as one eighth of it, nearly 50 million tons, had to be diverted to Europe to make up for the lost Russian supplies, Pouyanne said.

"It's a shock, Europe did it, but it paid more. The entire LNG market is now constrained by supply. And it will not loosen up before 2025-2026, because when you look at the new projects announced, in the United States and in Qatar, they will only go into production in a few years," the TotalEnergies СEO said, adding that in order to replace all the gas that the EU once received from Russia (100 million tons per year), it needs to double the amount of LNG it imported last year.

US drugmaker Pfizer admitted on Friday that it "engineered" treatment-resistant variants of Covid-19 in order to test its antiviral medicine. The admission partially backs up earlier claims by an executive with the company who told an undercover reporter that Pfizer was deliberately "mutating" the virus to "preemptively develop new vaccines."

In a statement posted on its website, Pfizer said that it "has not conducted gain of function or directed evolution research," referring to the practice of amplifying a virus' ability to infect humans and the process of selecting 'desirable' traits of a virus to reproduce, respectively.

However, the pharma giant said that it combined the spike proteins of new coronavirus variants with the original strain in order to test its vaccines, and that it created mutations of the virus to test Paxlovid, its antiviral drug.

"In a limited number of cases...such virus may be engineered to enable the assessment of antiviral activity in cells," the company said, adding that this work was carried out in a secure laboratory. The work also sought to create "resistant strains of the virus," it added, describing a process commonly understood as being 'gain of function' research.
