More than 700 years since the Black Death pandemic, scientists are developing a bubonic plague jab - but why? And should we be worried?

Back in 2020, the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc on the world. Entire countries were plunged into lockdowns and millions were impacted in innumerable ways.

Scientists raced to find a vaccine, heralded to help - and it did, protecting those who took it from increased risks of becoming seriously ill from the virus, and helping to halt its overwhelming spread on a global scale.

Now, almost half a decade on since a vaccine was created for COVID-19, scientists behind the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab are busy developing another vaccine, this time for a disease whose pandemic last devastated the world more than 700 years ago: the bubonic plague.


Comment: So the same "scientists" who gave us the useless and dangerous jab for Covid-19 are supposedly developing a vaccine for bubonic plague. And what - we're meant to be reassured??

Donald Trump's disgraced former attorney Michael Cohen is pleading with Joe Biden to give him a presidential pardon.

In an interview with MSNBC's Symone Sanders, Cohen said he had put in an application for a presidential pardon and expected Joe Biden to offer him once in the same way he did for his son Hunter.

Starbucks reverses open public bathroom policy: Junkie influx created unsafe environment

Newly appointed Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol has reportedly reversed a seven-year policy that allowed the general public to use store bathrooms without making a purchase. The policy had resulted in widespread drug use at certain store locations, particularly in lawless, Democrat-controlled cities.

The Wall Street Journal obtained a copy of a memo sent to employees outlining the new code of conduct being rolled out across stores in North America.

"There is a need to reset expectations for how our spaces should be used and who uses them," Starbucks North America President Sara Trilling said in the memo.

The updated policies also include adding signs prohibiting harassment, violence, threatening language, outside alcohol, smoking, and panhandling in its stores.

Comment: Comment: Now if Niccol would back off its DEI policies and stop supporting the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, he might have a chance at saving the company.

Three Algerian men have been arrested in France following allegations they published posts inciting violence on social media platform TikTok. The arrests come amid strained relations between France and its former colony, in the wake of the arrest of French-Algerian novelist Boualem Sansal, and France's support of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara.

French authorities on Sunday held three Algerians suspected of inciting violence in TikTok videos, with at least two of them facing terror-related charges. The arrests come amid growing political tensions between Paris and its former North African colony.

A video blogger known as "Imad Tintin" was arrested Friday outside Grenoble after publishing a video urging followers to "burn alive, kill and rape on French territory". The post was taken down after receiving 800,000 views but hardline right-wing Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau published a video grab on his social media accounts, condemning the publication as "vile".

A judge on Sunday placed the 31-year-old blogger under judicial supervision, Grenoble prosecutors said.

On December 31, 2024, the world received a year-end parting gift from the good folks at NIAID, Anthony Fauci's old fiefdom at the National Institutes of Health. NIAID - the same unaccountable and secretive agency that Fauci used to fund the gain-of-function research of Ralph Baric at UNC Chapel Hill and the Bat Lady in Wuhan that resulted in Covid - has a new director, one Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo.

Marrazzo and another NIAID colleague, Dr. Michael G. Ison, wrote a year-end editorial in the New England Journal of Medicine that accompanies a research paper on recent H5N1 Bird flu cases in the United States, as well as a case report of a lone case of severe illness associated with Bird flu in British Columbia.

Marrazzo and Ison summarize the findings of the research paper and case report as follows:
Investigators now report in the Journal a series of human cases from the United States and Canada. The former series involves 46 case patients with generally mild, self-limited infection with [Influenza type] A(H5N1): 20 with exposure to poultry, 25 with exposure to dairy cows, and 1 with undefined exposure....Most case patients presented with conjunctivitis, almost half with fever, and a minority with mild respiratory symptoms, and all recovered. The only hospitalization occurred in the case patient with undefined exposure, although hospitalization was not for respiratory illness.

Some 1.5 million Australians prefer using cash to digital payments, and in some remote parts of the vast continent, it is the only viable option.

Currently, there are no legal requirements for businesses to accept cash if they have another option that does not slap customers with a fee.

The Treasury announced late on Sunday that the government was looking to mandate that businesses accept cash for "essential items".

"People are increasingly using digital payment methods, but there is an ongoing place for cash in our society under the Albanese government," Treasurer Jim Chalmers and Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones said in a statement.

Comment: While the move to protect the use of cash is good, we'll have to see how long these efforts can last in the face of the Globalist West's agenda to have everyone tied to a social credit-based central bank digital currency...

Thousands protest in Romania against coup d'etat

Tens of thousands took to the streets of Romania's capital Bucharest on Sunday to protest against the Constitutional Court's invalidation of the presidential election.

The court annulled the results of the first round in December after independent candidate Calin Georgescu outperformed all other candidates.

Videos circulating on social media show demonstrators in Bucharest honking horns and waving Romania's flags, shouting "freedom" and "bring back the second round." Some were seen carrying portraits of Georgescu or Orthodox Christian icons, and others placards with the slogans "Democracy is not optional" and "We want free elections."

More than 100,000 people took part in the protest, media outlets stated, citing the event's organizers. Police reportedly estimated the numbers were much lower.

The Rotherham story is simple. It's a story about cowardice and evil. For decades, organised gangs of abusers preyed on children in their homes and in local institutions with impunity, while authorities turned a blind eye.

An inquiry led by the academic Alexis Jay, published in 2014, found evidence that reports had been submitted to authorities in the 1990s. The police certainly had evidence as far back as 2003 and 2006. Little was done to stop the crimes. Between 1997 and 2013, the National Crime Agency now believes, at least 1,500 girls were abused in the town.

Such mass abuse was the result of an instinct to look away and cover-up. In some cases, this appears to have been motivated by fear; fear of being called racist, or fear of what might happen if the majority community were to realise its children were viewed as easy targets by many members of a minority. In other cases, inaction is harder to explain away.

Comment: The evidence points to the abuse being sanctioned and repeatedly covered up by British authorities. We at SOTT have brought up psychopaths in power over and over again. When psychopaths are in positions of power, they tend to promote and protect behaviors that match their own perverted predilections. This story is a case in point.

Elites in the U.S. and U.K. prioritize protecting their power over public safety, hiding the truth about crimes and fearing backlash more than addressing the harm inflicted on innocent victims.

Having read his January 7th piece in American Greatness, "We Can Handle the Truth," clearly Christopher Roach did a splendid job of employing a cinematic reference to tie together the U.S. and U.K. establishments' mutual fear of telling their public the truth about terrorism and other criminal acts when the perpetrators are from a preferred intersectional group.

Specifically, Mr. Roach deftly stated the case how the refusal by the authorities and the corporate media in the United States to call the murders in New Orleans a terrorist attack constitutes a refusal akin to that exhibited by the United Kingdom regarding the Pakistani rape gangs. Per Mr. Roach:
There has been an even more aggressive media blackout in response to the horrifying rape gangs in the United Kingdom. For years, not only the media, but police, politicians, social workers, and other authorities downplayed the reality of these attacks, blamed victims, and did little to stop the rape of young, native British females by Pakistani immigrant gangs.
