Yet another pet homicide: Family's pet deer gunned down for being 'illegal'

pet deer killed
Taryn Mcgaughey
An infuriating and heart-breaking video was posted to social media recently of a family's beloved pet deer, Faline, named after the Disney Bambi character, was gunned down in front of them — for being illegal.

In Kansas, keeping wild animals as pets is illegal.

However, it wasn't like Kim Mcgaughey and her family lived in the city and had some tiger in their apartment. No, the Mcgaugheys live on a farm and the deer wasn't stolen from the wild and brought to their home. Instead, the family nursed Faline back to health after she showed up at their farm with a broken leg.

Only after Faline refused to leave did the family start feeding her.

After that, the deer quickly became a part of the family. She would often times go inside the home and sleep in Kim's room.

Higher education in hell

A politicized education is illiberal by its own inner compulsions. It has almost the hideousness and chaos of hell itself, so inextricably coupled it is with the mire and passions of the passing day.

Obama exit polls: Beloved by minorities, less so by military, criticized for broken promises

Polls show the country divided about the legacy of outgoing President Barack Obama. While he is popular with minorities and Democrats, the military mostly disapproves of him, and most Americans believe their lives haven't improved during his presidency.

"Democrats are exceptionally positive and Republicans are extremely negative" towards the Obama presidency, according to AP, which conducted the just-published poll with NORC at the University of Chicago.

Obama leaves office with a 57 percent favorability rating, comparable to Bill Clinton in 2001. More than half the respondents, 52 percent, called him a "great" or "good" president.

Social media slams Fox News' Priebus interview as 'ludicrous', 'not buying it'

Wallace and Priebus

Fox News and host Chris Wallace have been blasted for an interview with incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, with viewers describing it as "disappointing" and "ludicrous." Speaking to Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, Trump's chief of staff Priebus said that the president elect "accepts the fact that in this particular case it was entities in Russia." He also criticised the Democratic National Committee (DNC), however, for their shoddy defense against cyber attacks.

The report, which was carried out by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), found that Russian president Vladimir Putin interfered in the election to aid Trump's campaign. The report has been widely mocked online for its lack of proof, misinformation and preoccupation with RT.

"The primary actor was the foreign entity... Russia. Here's what we have, we have the DNC as a sitting duck... It started as a spearfishing expedition...just so happened that the DNC had almost no defenses on their system," Priebus said, adding that "actions may be taken" in response to Russia's alleged hacking.

For viewers, however, many seemed to side with Trump's earlier comments in relation to the report, with a number of Facebook users stating that Wallace's approach to the interview and clear desire for Priebus to blame Russia was "disappointing."

Comment: The indoctrination of MSM's own people goes long and deep, especially in the face of facts. Social media has made the connections and distinctions and adjusted, shouldn't they?

As Enrico Braun writes, for Russia Insider, Priebus has "flubbed it big time":
This is an epic fail by Trump's chief-of-staff - an establishment insider picked to grease the new outsider president's interactions with Congress.

Donald Trump has the neocon establishment in a head-lock. They have been caught red-handed lying, with the truth being disseminated widely in alternative media. The US government's and media's claims being demolished on a daily basis. It would be crazy for The Donald to throw in the towel now - and anyway, it's totally against his style.

Reince is a careerist cuckservative who seemed promising, but he may have just screwed himself. Detente with Russia is going to be the centerpiece of Trump's foreign policy. He cannot afford a chief-of-staff who is contradicting his boss's stated position at every turn.

General Motors has no plans to move small car production to the US from Mexico because of President-elect Donald Trump's criticism of the company, said CEO Mary Barra.

She told reporters manufacturing decisions and plant investments are made far in advance of production and can't be easily reversed.

"This is a long-lead business with highly capital-intensive investments—decisions that were made two, three and four years ago," Barra said.

Last week, Trump attacked General Motors for building some of its Chevrolet Cruze compact cars in Mexico. He tweeted that the largest US automaker should make cars at home or face a hefty tariff.

Propagandist Yahya Abu Hassan, the author of several articles urging IS supporters to carry out attacks on Western capitals, was identified last December as US-born John Georgelas.

The 33-year-old was once married to a British citizen and lived in the UK throughout his teens and early 20s.

It is believed that Georgelas met Joya Choudhury through a Muslim dating website in 2003. They tied the knot in Rochdale, near Manchester, the following year.

How to Master the OODA Loop

OODA Loop
John Boyd is described by some as the greatest military strategist in history that no one knows. He began his military career as a fighter pilot in the Korean War, but he slowly transformed himself into one of the greatest philosopher-warriors to ever live.

In 1961, at age 33, he wrote "Aerial Attack Study," which codified the best dogfighting tactics for the first time, became the "bible of air combat," and revolutionized the methods of every air force in the world.

His Energy-Maneuverability (E-M) Theory helped give birth to the legendary F-15, F-16, and A-10 aircraft.

Perhaps his most significant contribution to military strategy, though, came from a series of briefings he gave. In them, Boyd laid out a way of thinking about conflict that would revolutionize warfare around the world.

The idea centers on an incredible strategic tool: the OODA Loop — Observe, Orient, Decide, Act. Nation-states around the world and even terrorist organizations use the OODA Loop as part of their military strategy. It has also been adopted by businesses to help them thrive in a volatile and highly competitive economy.

In Tampa, Food Not Bombs activists arrested for feeding the homeless—again

Temperatures were dipping into unfriendly territory Saturday afternoon as sports fans flocked to the events at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

At nearby Lykes Gaslight Park, members of Tampa's homeless community were gathered for hot coffee and bagels, courtesy of the group Food Not Bombs.

There were no altercations, no illicit substances, no bad behavior—unless you count that, according to the City of Tampa, that coffee and bagels were illegal.

Why?

Because you have to have a special permit in order to offer free food to the needy in city parks. But obtaining a city permit to feed the homeless twice a week—to set up a table and open bags of chips and bagels and spoon organic beans and rice from a pot—can be pricey because of the insurance policy the city requires.

Given how often they do it (homeless people have to eat frequently, too), that can add up.

Volunteers with Food Not Bombs knew their actions were technically illegal. They had been warned about it earlier in the week.

And they did it anyway.
