Georgia's ex-President and ex-governor of Odessa, Mikhail Saakashvili, has shocked the patriotic Ukrainian public, stating that the Ukraine has never really known a "real Russian aggression."

The Ukrainian authorities are so deep in their own lies, says Saakashvili, that the public no longer believes in said aggression and "evil Putin." This was stated in a programme Freedom of Speech on 27 March, on ICTV channel.

Saakashvili complained that in 2008, 200 aircraft and 2000 tanks were used against his country, and that the Ukraine really hasn't experienced "the real Russian armed forces."

Scottish Parliament backs Nicola Sturgeon's demand for second independence referendum

The Scottish Parliament has voted to back Nicola Sturgeon's motion to mandate the government to seek new powers from Westminster in order to trigger a second independence referendum.

The motion passed thanks to the Scottish Greens support, and despite Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives expressing opposition to what they called another "divisive" referendum campaign.

The Scottish First Minister has called for a second independence vote to take place between Autumn 2018 and Spring 2019, though she will need Westminster's approval in order to actually implement her plans.

Threatening Russia? RAF Typhoon fighters will deploy to Romania in May

Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter aircraft will deploy to Romania in May as part of NATO's continued militarization of Eastern Europe.

The initiative will see four Typhoons from RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire, deploy to Mihail Kogalniceanu Airbase in Romania until September.

They will carry out patrols of the Black Sea area as part of the Southern Air Policing mission conducted under NATO command. The UK is the first ally to provide aircraft for the task.

"The UK is stepping up its support for NATO's collective defense from the north to the south of the alliance," said Defense Secretary Michael Fallon.

"With this deployment, RAF planes will be ready to secure NATO airspace and provide reassurance to our allies in the Black Sea region," he added.

A top German MP has slammed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, calling him a "terrorism Godfather" and accusing him of pursuing a Third Reich-style foreign policy. The outburst follows Ankara's Nazi-themed taunts over a ban on Turkish rallies in Germany.

"Turkey's foreign policy priorities... are reminiscent of the Third Reich," said Sahra Wagenknecht, head of the German Left Party's parliamentary faction, speaking to other MPs in the Bundestag.

"Namely, it seeks to install [Turkish] minorities in other countries in order to pursue [Turkey's] own violence-based policy, own geopolitics as well as its own policy of suppression there."

The West's violent policies at home and abroad were major factors in bringing about the Westminster attack, but British authorities are in denial, according to the advocacy NGO Cage.

Four people were killed and up to 50 wounded on March 15 when British-born Khalid Masood ploughed a car into a crowded area on Westminster Bridge before stabbing a police officer. Masood was also shot dead at the scene.

Cage, a human rights organization that examines the impact of measures taken in the War on Terror, warned that, though the attack is being widely blamed on a violent ideology, no attention has been paid to where that ideology actually came from.

Sen. Chuck Schumer caused a scene at a Manhattan restaurant when he began yelling at a wealthy and well-connected Donald Trump supporter that the POTUS is "a liar."

Schumer, the top Senate Democrat, lost his cool on Sunday night at Upper East Side restaurant Sette Mezzo, according to witnesses.

He was dining with friends when he encountered Joseph A. Califano Jr. — the former US secretary of health, education and welfare under President Jimmy Carter and domestic policy adviser to President Lyndon B. Johnson — and his wife, Hilary, who were having a quiet dinner.

Onlookers said Schumer was incensed that Hilary — the daughter of William S. Paley, the founder and chairman of CBS — had voted for Trump, even though her husband, Joseph, is a well-known Democrat.

Author and political philosopher Noam Chomsky sounded a dire warning on Monday in an interview with AlterNet's Jan Frel, saying that President Donald Trump could stage a "false flag" terror attack in an effort to consolidate his power and strip Americans of their constitutional rights.


Comment: Chomsky clearly doesn't have a handle on what Trump is trying to do - and what his parameters likely are. False flag terrorism is the purview of the Deep State - those folks who are right now trying to undermine, subvert and negate any of the goals Trump has to ultimately curtail US wars of aggression; a very difficult undertaking that must be pursued with great caution. Not only does Chomsky not seem to understand this, but he also came out in support of a Clinton presidency - the very pathological personality who would have capitalized on a false flag scenario, and who has a track record of creating chaos on the ground in Libya and Syria. Won't someone please explain this to Chomsky?!


Chomsky warned that eventually the people who voted for Trump will realize that his "promises are built on sand" and begin to lose faith in his presidency, at which point Trump will need someone to scapegoat, so he will say, "'Well, I'm sorry, I can't bring your jobs back because these bad people are preventing it.' And the typical scapegoating goes to vulnerable people: immigrants, terrorists, Muslims and elitists, whoever it may be. And that can turn out to be very ugly."


Comment: Chomsky once again seems to get it all wrong. Trump has already nixed the TTP - a criminal boondoggle for international corporations that would seek to further move jobs out of the US and further rape countries of their economic sovereignty. Clinton would have found a way to push this policy through given her slavish fealty to elitist goals.


"I think that we shouldn't put aside the possibility that there would be some kind of staged or alleged terrorist act, which can change the country instantly," Chomsky said.

United Nations Nikki Haley said, explaining why the US had blocked a former Palestinian prime minister's appointment to lead the UN's Libya mission.

"So when they decided to try and put a Palestinian [former Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad] in one of the highest positions that had ever been given at the UN, we said no and we had him booted out," Haley said at the annual Policy Conference of the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) on Monday.

"That doesn't mean he wasn't a nice man," she continued, adding "that doesn't mean he wasn't good to America."
