U.S.A. has to be prosecuted. How about sanctions? Where is the U.N.?
So much apathy...where is the rage? This country is fu$K up!
This will be happening in this land soon.
How about sanctions? Where is the U.N.?
..of the feast of blood and massacre that happened to be caught on video.I am in no way underplaying this incident by saying that.I literally lost my breakfast at the sight of this senseless killing this morning.THIS is an everyday occurence, though, and it will continue to carry on for as long as the people of this sordid country continue to turn our heads and ignore the reality that is beset upon us.Ignorance and feigned "helplessness" among the citizenry is NO EXCUSE for the inaction that we see here in the US today. The "chickens" WILL come home to roost eventually. There is absolutely no way around this destiny, barring some natural catastrophe (if there even IS such an animal anymore).
"shame on us
doomed from the start
may god have mercy
on our dirty little hearts
shame on us
for all we have done
and all we ever were
just zeros and ones" -Trent Reznor
I've seen enough footage and read enough first-person accounts of the murderous acts of the American army to be disgusted and appalled. The worst I've seen has come from the contractors like Blackwater, for sure. And I understand that most of the terrorist acts perpetrated by insurgents are actually false flag operations.
But when I watch this video, ugly as it is, I have to ask one little question. I'm not asking it to defend anyone's actions, I'm just trying to look at it from every possible angle, as an individual event.
What was the strange explosion coming from the Iraqi man while he was lying on the ground? It did actually look like something coming from him, did it not? I could be wrong, but it sure looked like something on him was detonated.
If that is the case, it does kind of change the outlook of this particular incident.
I am no supporter of the US Armed Forces and their clear, inhumane, illegal conduct in Iraq and other theatres, but this clip needs context. I agree with other posters that this article is poor.
It appears to me that the soldiers are clearly concerned that this guy is wired with explosives. Upon being surrounded by armed soldiers, the standard response would be to place hands in the air, showing no aggressive intent. However, he does not do this. When hit by gunfire, the explosion (as noted by mocachapeau) is indeed strange, as is the object that flies toward the camera (any ideas on what this is?). When the soldier shouts, "arrest that Motherf***er!", it is not clear whether he is talking about the man on the ground injured or someone else off camera.
I do not excuse the soldiers actions but I also do not excuse the writers treatment of the footage.
of the country they illegally invaded and occupy? Perhaps that would be helpful...speaking the language.
Yeah, the U.S. culture already knows that you should put up your hands and sit your ass down. We've been programed.
Do you know anything about their culture?
Do you know anything about their language?
It's ok to murder everyone there?
Genocide is ok?
We're protecting 'our' U.S. borders?
Bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comments here confirm the age-old observation that people either respond mostly from their emotions/heart or mostly from their intellect/head.
Those who want to see big bad psychopathic Americans killing an old man for no reason immediately see that and post accordingly, full of emotion.
Others wonder why a man would stand for at least 5 minutes and refuse to follow orders by heavily armed soldiers who repeatedly fire warning shots. They wonder what the thing is that clearly explodes from him after he is shot and wonder if perhaps he was armed after all, that maybe the soldiers knew something YOU don't know about the situation... imagine that. They wonder why SOTT gives absolutely no context or background as to what we are seeing. Thinkers as opposed to emoters reflect for a few minutes before posting.
I sometimes wonder what SOTT's agenda is and to whom they are trying to appeal.
that this unfortunate old man might not understand English?
Another murderous example of American military arrogance.
to expose the FACT that, according to the respect Iraq deaths study by the Lancet journal, by 2006 186,000 Iraqi civilians had been killed, mainly by US forces. The remaining 400+ thousand deaths are due to "other" and "unknown". So with those figures, you have the gall to try and cast doubt when Sott.net exposes ONE Iraqi death. I suggest you go get yourself a conscience before opining further on what are clearly war crimes.
Seems to me a clear case of making an item of news fit with a preconceived agenda. I love Laura's work but I feel sure that she would want this article removed in it's present form.
Laura?
600,000+ Iraqi deaths (as of 2006) attributed to the illegal invasion of Iraq are you missing?
I don't see that slagging SOTT is appropriate here. The "article" is not from them, just shared here. And look at the good discussion it has brought about. People are sharing their opinions about jumping to conclusions without enough context, being objective, observant, etc. It could be helpful in many different ways.
This kind of discussion is what SOTT's all about, I think. If people are learning from this, all the better.
People don't seem to be slagging SOTT. They seem to be wondering why a site that prides itself on the Truth is allowing links from other sites that are presented in a manipulate form.
I'd just expect higher standards from SOTT. Such as finding out more information in a balanced light before this was posted.
Well maybe it's just me, but "SOTT no better than MSM" and "this IS fairly typical of SOTT" both sound like slagging to me.
that if the person who wrote "this IS fairly typical of SOTT" (West Indian) is a regular reader here, the statement is an outright lie, in my opinion. I am a daily SOTT reader, and I can say confidently that this is NOT typical of SOTT at all! And as I stated before (and others have pointed out), this is not an article written by sott.net.
All the other excellent articles that were actually WRITTEN by the Signs team (as opposed to this which is just from another site) is suddenly forgotten and people talk about "real" agendas. I wonder what THEIR real agenda is...
With that logic SOTT shouldn't be taken seriously at all if you read the articles in their "Don't panic lighten up" section!
Anyway if this particular video doesn't provide enough context for you (which I could agree with) there are countless others that do. It doesn't change the fact that over a million innocent civilians have been murdered over there.
This video might be inconclusive, but there's plenty of other evidence of brutal cowardice by brainwashed american zombies. I don't see these trained killers as heroes, merely intruments of a corrupt government.
At 3.27 you'll see an object lying next to the man by his left foot he also appears to move it with his left foot shortly before it explodes, it explodes at 3.30 and flies a few feet up into the air and lands several feet away. It does appear that the man was armed with something that exploded. It may have detonated when the soldiers shot at it.
I'm not there, I'm not deeply ensnared in the whole mess, I cannot judge the actions of these men. They may end up as statistics themselves, likely by their own hand.
This is not realy something New, shocking yes but it goes on all the time, its just that it does not get exposed, normaly these heroe soldiers would have got medals for this action. I doubt it very much now after this exposure but there again i would not hold by breath.
There is less evidence for a bomb then for example a cellphone-battery getting hit by a bullet. That was not a dangerous explosion, even though he is shot multiple times, he still gets up after being a about a a feet or two from the explosion.
Note that they shoot him afterward when he is dying and totally incapacitated.
The Geneva Conventions comprise rules that apply in times of armed conflict and seek to protect people who are not or are no longer taking part in hostilities, for example:
* wounded or sick fighters
I do think that it would be hard to argue against him being wounded, and that is assuming he is a "fighter" at all.
If you don't know SOTT's agenda, you haven't been reading the site very long. Don't get me wrong, I've read them for 7 years and sent money to keep it going because I value SOTT for its non-MSM articles and perspectives.
But they never miss a cheap shot at the USA whether it fits the rest of their lineup or not. Not anti-fascism or anti-ponerology or whatever, just pure bigoted anti-American in every way. I usually just roll my eyes and skip those but let's not pretend SOTT doesn't hate every single thing American.
The US is occupying Iraq, which as you should know, was "the result of 9/11". In other words, the US should not be even remotely close to Iraq right now, much less sitting in the middle of it controlling its government and shooting anything that moves. Therefore, ANYTHING the USA does in Iraq is by definition illegal.
Maybe the guy DID have a bomb, but how do we know his child wasn't blown to bits by occupying forces who were "striking at terrorists"? We don't. In fact, we don't know much about the precise context of the video.
What we DO know is the general context, which as I mentioned above, doesn't make the US look good at all. We also know that this sort of video is NOT shown by the mainstream media. It shows the type of thing that is actually happening in Iraq every day. Therefore, it IS important for people to see it and discuss it.
Oh, and even though I hate pickup trucks, and I think baseball is utterly boring, I DO love Apple Pie!
you clearly have an issue of your own there when you say that we "hate every single thing American". That's a bit of a stretch don't you think?
has an explosive or what the real context of the situation was, the facts of the matter is that America invaded a sovereign nation based on complete LIES and has KILLED hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and displaced millions of Iraqis!
I for one being born in America am grateful for the fact that SOTT keeps shinning the light of truth on the American illusion.
That's so extremely, psycopathically bizarre. If one doesn't know what's psycopathy, or psycopathy-influenced behaviour, such a scene would be unbelievable, or even thought impossible to occur at any level of reality. But it IS possible, and even more than possible: given soldiers' already uncovered abuses up to now (seven years of an ongoing illicit and phony occupation), it is highly - though undesirably - PLAUSIBLE. And I'll say more than that. Let us consider that there's no Big Brother to film everything that is going on there. Which is a fact. And that which has been filmed is a blunder, a slip, and represents a tiny, minuscule spec of what's the day-to-day reality there. Therefore, I am lead to infer that such a vile and reproachful - and completely unethical - psycophatic action has been happening again and again and again. There have already been leaks of info of rape committed - of course - by soldiers on beautiful Iraqi female teenagers and relatives, of tortures done on innocent men and women, of families entire massacred, of children jailed and abused, SO WHY NOT THIS? To refuse or deny, would be to accept blindness to veil our eyes, a sort of protection against Evil reality presenting itself bare naked in front of us.
Anyway, I am very much bereaved at watching this old man being shot three times with those powerful arms. You see the man is suffering a tough ordeal on the ground, almost senseless, trying to get up, to get back to life, and being shot again. And lastly, having convulsions in his legs on the ground. And then nothing. The man is dead. Plain 'n simple dead. For a dead arab dude we always make up an excuse. That's the way, boys. So far so good.
I won't be able to sleep tonight. Will THEY? Any day of their lives? To raise their sons? Will they have healthy spermatozoids to make nice boys and gals out of kind-hearted, naïve lovers? Because they shouldn't. They shouldn't ever be born, to tell you frankly, and facing you in the eyes.
I won't be able to sleep tonight. And I hope from the bottom of my soul that they won't too. Or that when they fall fast asleep, that gorish, vivid nightmares appear relentlessly, making them wake up all sweat and tears and fearful crying out. And I hope they wake up so frightened and lonely amid the night, that they may be able to feel all that that dying man felt.
And even if that happens to them, I won't be able to sleep tonight.
I must thank you, but I admit it is a tough shock for anyone who ALMOST took arms for his country. And this someone DID believe that there was something honorable and respectable in wearing his uniform. But he DID change his mind. Never more, just as Poe has eternally said through the Raven's voice. Nevermore.
"Crescit eundo", It grows as it goes.

One consensus:
the lack of the suppressed word Imperialism.
Imperialism, of course, is not a "pure" word in the USA.
This is called a "demand for purity." It divides the "world of experience into two (formatory)": pure versus impure, absolutely good versus absolutely evil, us versus them, and so forth. Everything contributing to the state of 'impurity/evil/them' must be searched out and eliminated.
Such Thought Control can be accomplished by providing people with a vocabulary, a loaded language that constricts rather than broadens understanding.
I really do not care whether the old man was able to hurt any of those stupid young thugs or not - they have no right to be in another man's country. America, you have no idea how much you are loathed and despised - especially since you do this at the command of that horrible shitty little "country" known as "israel".! How low can you go? Any lower??? By the way - ancient Israel loathed and despised the shitty little Judea whihc was nothing but a desert wilderness where robbers and brigands and thieves and beggars hid from civilized people. The Eyptians found them beyond understanding, so lacking in any sense of morality they were that they even plundered graves!
Incredible, low uncivilized creatures, indecent and ugly and cruel and totallly lacking in any sense of dignity or courage or pride. They are still just the same - cruel, vindictive thieves and liars who hate all decent people. So; they have even appropriated the name of Israel to which they are NOT entitled.
Please look at what Gilad Atzmon has to say today, and recently too.

I feel very sorry for those young men. Those who are not actual psychopaths are done for. Their lives are finished. They will never ever feel like decent, upright, courageous men again - and they are still so young. As for the psychopaths among them - they were heartless and worthless to begin with and never HAD any hope of being human, kind, decent, good, upright and strong. America, you need to wake up to what is happening to your young. Or have you not heart
either? We have to start by arresting the bankers - all of the, starting with the vile Rothschilds - and their entire circle, never forgetting Goldman Sacks, Bank of America, Wells Fargo - and all of them. They must be arrested, tried in open court with all due process of Common Law - NOT the nonsense of Commercial or Admiralty Law. They must tried, convicted and punished - and I have come to the conclusion that the Death penalty is appropriate, though I have always hated it - but they have been the cause of the death by starvation of millions upon millions of children, never mind adults. Or, put them in stocks after chasing them donw the road all tarred and feathered, and let tourists come each week-end to throw rotten eggs and tomatoes and other disgusting things at them. They can be returned to the tiny cells for the week - and brought out on friday to face the rotten eggs and the parents of all the children they have so carelessly murdered.
EVERYTHING they have must be taken from them at once. It is ALL stolen, every last penny was taken by the most stealthy and cunning form of usury, designed to enslave and kill - and it has been doing for centuries. Actually, for millenia. Read David Astle's book "The Babylonian Woe." !
I have to agree that the video lacks context. This could be an example of a man declaiming foreign invaders in his neighborhood or it could be a man attempting to attack foreign invaders in his neighborhood. Maybe he was trying to get home and the troops were between him and his family. When I think, what would I do in their(the troops) place, or what would I do in his place, I hit a wall because there isn't enough info on the circumstance.
The United States is occupying Iraq because of 9/11, which had nothing to do with Iraq. That's the background. That should be all the background you need...
No human being,I repeat,NO HUMAN BEING has the right to extinguish the life of another human being for ANY purpose whatsoever.Flag,country,religion,race.These terms are ALL created to pin one another against each other.
I truly have no idea what I am looking at. It's very unsettling to watch a man get shot and killed. I did see an odd explosion after he went down, a strange puff of black smoke that took off his shoe.
I think it is very strange indeed to have foreign soldiers in your neighborhood keeping "the peace" by shooting anybody "just in case". If anyone can IMAGINE the absolute horror of that last sentence then you would not wish that upon an other person. Maybe, just maybe, these soldiers should be brought home and have the iraqees mangae themselves, deal with their kooks, crooks and criminals themselves much like any other country. Why aren't they allowed to?
To bad this video was disjointed and dislocated from any context. But. The soldiers aren't home, it's not their country and if they are in danger then this is easily solved.
If foreign soldiers stayed in my place of birth "keeping the peace" uninvited, making a unsolvable mess out of things..100% I will want them out by any means possible. Anyone in here saying the soldiers had certain rights they acted upon, well, they shouldn't be there in the first place. I don't think it's possible to support the soldiers if the war and occupation is evil and morally wrong to begin with. Wish then the best by wishing them home.
... every time I hear Obama or others refer to "the brave men & women of the US military ...." In this entire scene, if there were even one brave member of the military, he/she would have done the right thing and put his/her life on the line to protect this unarmed man from being murdered. There might be an "investigation" (& we know what that means), but, once again, nobody's going to jail. NOBODY. Yes, the US is deeply concerned when a blackjack is swung in Iran, North Korea, China or Zimbabwe because it really cares about human rights & democracy and all that mushy stuff. Take a look at this video and know the truth.
Someons father ?
Someones son
Someone who will be missed.
someone dealng with stranger in his land who have come from afar and murdered , slaughtered , raped people from his community.
A situation that would not have happened if people were not so sheep like , racist ,so willing to follow psychopathic orders for money , a wage.
Any death , from whatever percieved side is one to many.
I'm going to join the army/navy/marines/air force
'cause I don't have a job. What a cheap venal excuse to take part in an illegal invasion of another sovereign nation. Those little pukes, as was reiterated previously, have no business being there, even if they're forced to live on the streets back home because they can't find a job.
In my 64 years in this density, I've had good well-paying jobs as well as lots of crappy ones, and have been on welfare a few times to boot.
And never once did I even consider joining the military, because when the war in Vietnam was happening, I educated myself and the saw the reality of war.
Nope, all of you justifiers of these little pukes actions, you're as guilty as they are of killing that man.
It does look like a bomb or some sort of explosive goes off at 3:32.
As such, it isn't clear what's going on. I think the video is a poor example of soldiers killing an innocent simply because the argument can be made that the guy was wired with explosives.
While the US occupation is a warcrime and innocent civilians are killed, daily, this isn't the kind of evidence we should use to make that point.
Change the title to "US Army Kills Suicide Bombing Terrorist" and you could make the exact opposite argument using the same video.
My 2 cents.
There's so much emotions expressed by so many comments. While I have to admit that really knowing what's going on in this video is difficult, one thing is obvious: these "soldiers" are fully armed and greatly outnumber this one man. Also, whatever it is that explodes, whether it's the man's cellphone being shot or whatever, it's clearly not an explosion that would have caused much damage, as it doesn't seem to have done anything to the man himself. This isn't a very good example of video to show the real situation of what the cannon fodder does in foreign lands.
However, the more significant point to me seems the reactions of some who vehemently attacked SOTT, questioned SOTT's motives and "agenda," etc. There's a kind of contempt and loathing in some of those comments. To compare SOTT to the mainstream media, or accuse of hatred of all things "American" is just nonsensical. These are the familiar buffers used to shield oneself from the "terror of the situation." At least that's the flavor I sensed.
What SOTT has been doing all these years to get people to SEE the real "terror of the situation" has helped many. I think that to get the full value, one has to really read and participate in the forums and read everything that's put together by the SOTT team. I had a certain outlook for about 15 years about where America, and the whole world really, was headed but since reading Cassipaea and SOTT since 2004, I actually made a decision mid 2005 to get the hell out of America and was able to accomplish it by mid 2006. Although I had wanted to for a long time, the SOTT experience gave me the push to do so.
This was the right thing to do for me, it may not be for others. But the point is that what SOTT has been warning about for a long time is now "in your face" obvious. What has been done to the Palestians for over a 100 years, but especially the last 62 or so, and the Iraqis, and the Afghans, and... you get the point, the list is too long, but this all-oppressive pathological machine IS coming to your neighborhood. The mutli-tiered terrorizing, grossly impoverishing larceny, and all the rest is no longer happening "over there" but it's now up close and personal. Now we're all Palestinians, Iraqis, Afghans, Vietnamese, Nicaraguans, Salvadorans.... Because it never was about "those others" being some other ethnicity, religion, class etc. It was about us others NOT finding out about pathocracy and remaining its victim. Now it's been part of the "globalization."
As it all escalates, it will become impossible to "sleep comfortably." How are you going to deal with reality? Got SOTT?
This is murder. Plain and simple. The man was not armed and presented no threat to anyone.
Perhaps a few of the soldiers that participated in this incident have the spark of a conscience within them. Their hearts will be replaying this moment for the rest of their lives.
Such a horror.
