EU must decide fate of military age Ukrainian men - member state

Last week, Kiev suspended consular services to males residing abroad in a bid to force them to register for service.

The European Union should come up with a uniform approach to dealing with draft-eligible Ukrainian men residing in the bloc, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz has argued. Warsaw is willing to assist Kiev, which has recently intensified efforts to conscript more servicemen, he added.

Facing an intensifying shortage of personnel on the front line, the Ukrainian government last month amended its mobilization laws, lowering the age of conscription from 27 to 25, tightening exemptions, and adding harsher penalties for draft dodgers. Last week, the Ukrainian authorities also stopped issuing passports to all men aged 18 to 60 who live abroad and have not registered at a military recruitment center back home.

Comment: Lowering the number of foreign occupants is a win for Poland.

Georgian police disperse 'foreign agents' bill protests

Law enforcement has deployed water cannons and used pepper spray against demonstrators outside the country's parliament

Georgian police late on Monday moved in to disperse protestors blocking the country's parliament in Tbilisi, deploying water cannons, tear gas, and pepper spray against the crowd.

The unrest, which was triggered by a new attempt to pass a controversial "foreign agents" bill that is vehemently criticized by opposition lawmakers, has been ongoing for several days already.

Footage from the scene showed a large numbers of police officers clad in riot gear and equipped with shields and batons advancing on the retreating protesters. At least two water cannon trucks positioned behind the police can be seen repeatedly dousing the crowds.

Comment: So the Georgian government wants to bring in their own version of the U.S.' FARA legislation. Why shouldn't Georgia's aministration know what foreign agencies are up to in their country?
So who's behind the protests then? Answer: U.S. NGOs who don't want to be subject to local oversight. Imagine that . . . .

MayDay, MayDay...

Anger and madness are relatives
Anger and madness are deadly twins
Anger and madness are brothers
Anger and madness have a very close
cousin called foolishness
They always accompany each other
The three are inseparable
The three follow each other everywhere.

Happy May Day!

May is the month of madness, not to mention, anger and foolishness.

Some examples:

"Defense" foolishness

Lloyd Austin appeared in Congress to answer questions โ€” among other things questions about the Pentagon's F 35 boondoggle now close to 1,5 trillion dollars, give or take a billion or two, with only 29% of the aircraft reportedly operationally capable-- this, even lower than the 50% operational capability I have been reporting, which is the figure that Pentagon has been giving out.

As I have said before, by the time they fix the bugs, this aircraft will be obsolete.

Nevertheless, the US is still buying F35s and has been forcing its allies to buy them too.

Here in Japan, the Japanese bought F 35 B's to put on helicopter carriers, which they could then claim to be aircraft carriers. The F 30 5B is the VTOL model which suffers from short range and limited payload and rapid degradation of its stealth coating at sea. It is pretty much useless anyway โ€” especially if only 4 of the 12 jets on board can fly.

One of the ironies is that F 35 operational capability has actually decreased every time the defense industry "upgrades" the machine. It is a bit like Windows 11-- which suffers a lot of the same problems as Windows 95! Microsoft keeps adding "updates" that break the OS.

But, hey, "defense" is one of America's few remaining industries.

US aid bill includes $3.5 billion to 'supercharge mass migration from the Middle East'

Tucked away in the $95 billion military aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan is a $3.5 billion slush fund to open new processing centers for Muslim migrants, in what Sen. Eric Schmitt described as a bid to "supercharge mass migration from the Middle East."

And as Breitbart points out, the $95 billion package does not include any funds to help rebuild America's border defenses against illegal migration - but it does contain $481 million to settle migrants in US cities, and of course, the $3.5 billion to expand migration programs worldwide.

Comment: Indeed, it's clear that the weaponised mass migration program that begun in earnest a decade ago is accelerating:

US House votes to officially label Israel critics 'antisemites'

The US House of Representatives passed a bill on 1 May to expand the federal definition of antisemitism, coming in the wake of widespread pro-Palestine protests on university campuses across the country.

The bill passed in a 320 to 91 vote, and will now go to the Senate for consideration.

If successful, the bill would codify a definition of antisemitism established by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). IHRA defines antisemitism as "a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities."

US has taken UN Security Council hostage - Moscow

Washington doesn't reflect the body's stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Russia's envoy has said

The UN Security Council is being held hostage by US policy with respect to the ongoing struggle in the Middle East, Russia's envoy Vassily Nebenzia has said during a UN General Assembly debate on Washington's veto of Palestine's bid to join the intergovernmental organization.

Moscow "deeply regrets" the decision made by the US authorities in mid-April to reject an Algerian resolution calling for the State of Palestine to become a full member of the United Nations, Nebenzia stressed on Wednesday.

Washington's actions "absolutely do not reflect the principled position taken by the remaining members of the UN Security Council, who over the past six months, in fact, became hostages of the US when it comes to the events in the Middle East," he said.

Speaking about Israel's military operation in Gaza, the ambassador stressed that "violence generates more violence, and this vicious circle can only be broken if we achieve an unconditional ceasefire and begin substantive discussions about the possibility of a just political settlement."

Comment: The US supports Israel unconditionally and apart from heavy funding from Israel of US congressmen, there is also the blackmailing angle, which Tucker Carlson dared to voice recently:
Tucker Carlson finally blows the pedophilia lid off on puppet control
They're worried about someone putting kiddie porn on their computer. Members of Congress are terrified of the intel agencies. I'm not guessing at that. They've told me that โ€” including people on the intel committee, including people who run the intel committee. The people whose job it is to oversee and keep in line these enormous, secretive agencies whose budgets we can't even know โ€” their 'black budgets.' They are the parents, the agencies are the children. They're afraid of the agencies. That's not compatible with democracy.
And Tucker continued:
And I said to somebody in my kitchen the other day, I said to the guy who serves in one of the legislative bodies... 'all these people are controlled, they've all got weird sex lives and all these things they're hiding and they're being blackmailed by the intel agencies,' and he said 'I know.' It's playing out in front of everyone, and no one cares and no one does anything about it. I think the reason is because they're threatened. And if you look at the committee chairmen who allowed this shit to happen year after year... I know them. And they have all the things to hide. I know that for a fact.

Israel uses foreign mercenaries in Gaza

The US is trying to make the Kurds partners with Israel. But, many Kurds take the side of the people of Gaza and the Palestinian resistance.

The international community is not only silent about Israel's genocide but also sends foreign mercenaries to fight alongside Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in Gaza.

The IDF summoned hundreds of reserve soldiers to reinforce its ranks in preparation for its ground attack on the Gaza Strip. To bolster their Israeli ranks the IDF promoted an influx of people holding Israeli passports and living in foreign countries.

However, the Spanish newspaper, El Mundo, reported that Tel Aviv contacted international security contractors to provide fighters to perform military tasks during its ongoing war in Gaza.

Pedro Diaz Flores Corrales, aged 27 years, is a former soldier in the Spanish army and had previously fought as a mercenary in both Ukraine and Iraq. In addition to this, he is known for belonging to a fascist political group, the so-called Neo-Nazi movement, according to the Middle East website 'Monitor'.

The group is involved in illicit arms trafficking, as well as mercenary exploitation.

Comment: The numbers and sources of paid mercenaries may be one of Israel's better-kept secrets.

Mounting evidence is pointing to a nightmare scenario for the US economy

Biden

The U.S. economy is showing signs of stagflation as growth slumps down and prices continue to surge for average Americans, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

U.S. annual economic growth measured just 1.6% in the first quarter of 2024, following a report of persistently high inflation in March of 3.5% year-over-year. The combination of both low growth and high inflation, in conjunction with continuously high amounts of government spending and debt, has led to signs of stagflation in the U.S. economy, which wreaked havoc on U.S. consumers throughout the 1970's, according to experts who spoke to the DCNF.

E.J. Antoni, a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation's Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget, told the DCNF:
"It's not so much that we risk stagflation as we're already there. We have basically pulled forward trillions of dollars of economic growth by borrowing from the future, but that must be repaid at some point. And it is highly inefficient as well."

Comment: Cash-to-ash: Biden's financial smokescreen is going up in flames.

Netanyahu asked Biden to block International Criminal Court - Axios

BenjiNet

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked US President Joe Biden to stop the International Criminal Court (ICC) from pursuing him and several other top-ranking Israeli officials, news publisher Axios has claimed. Several media outlets reported last week that the court could charge the Israeli leadership with war crimes over the ongoing military campaign against Hamas in Gaza.

Israel launched its massive offensive following the deadly October 7 incursion by the radical group's militants, which claimed the lives of an estimated 1,200 Israelis, mostly civilians.

In recent months, the severe response by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the densely populated Palestinian enclave have come under increasing scrutiny and have been broadly criticized - even by the country's US and European allies.

According to Gaza authorities, Israeli strikes have killed more than 34,000 people, mostly civilians. In January, the United Nation's International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a ruling, saying it was "plausible" that Israeli forces had committed acts of genocide in the enclave.

In its article on Monday, Axios, citing two anonymous Israeli officials, claimed that Netanyahu had phoned Biden on Sunday, asking him to wield Washington's clout and prevent the ICC from issuing arrest warrants.

Comment: Hustle and bluster aside, this court will continue to do nothing.

European diplomats chased out of Palestinian Museum in West Bank

Screenshot: Germany remains one of strongest supporters of Israel's military offensive in Gaza
Palestinian students expelled a European diplomatic delegation from the Palestinian Museum in the West Bank on Tuesday amid growing anger over support for Israel's deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip.

Amro Kayed, a student at Birzeit University, said the European delegation included some German members.

"Germans are not welcome in the Palestinian territories," Kayed told Anadolu.

Comment: An understandable response considering that many in the Palestinian territories will have relatives who were slaughtered or who are dying a slow death in the Gazan concentration camp.

Video clips shared on social media platforms showed a group of students removing foreign diplomats from the museum.

"The German ambassador has been expelled," one student is heard saying in the video.

The visit to the museum was initiated by representatives of several European embassies, including France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, and Germany.

Comment: It's notable that an outcry against Israel's genocide, and those that would facilitate it, is escalating not just in Palestine, but across much of the planet. Notably, the authorities in those countries facilitating the genocide are also cracking down the hardest on protesters; which, rather predictably, is only causing more to rally to their cause: US, Germany supplied 99% of Israel weapons in 2023, US accelerated deliveries despite Gaza genocide
