OF THE
TIMES
Heaven and hell are eternal places because they are always present at the extremes of human existence, for better or for worse. People are constantly choosing between them, although they are generally not conscious of that in an articulated manner.
Odd, that much of a coincidence. :O
"Thankfully we're able to have our free speech on campus to a degree." To a degree? Free speech or not?
Madness, anger and foolishness. And the month has only begun!
The bedrock of Free Speech is the freedom to criticise those in authority.

Incorrect! American politicians and their politically correct cowardly ilk wilt in the face of a stiff breeze, this is true, but not "real" American fighting forces. American fighting forces have been held on an increasingly shorter leash since the end of WWII. The bulk of fighters in any "proxy wars" have been largely comprised of indigenous, or foreign populations, not Americans. Even in Vietnam the means for a victory were kept off the table by politicians, because America was "defending" South Vietnam. The politicians did not allow American generals to heavily bomb and invade North Vietnam, prevent the importation of munitions and ultimately cut off the supply routes to the fighters in the south that would have led to their defeat. No, the politicians just wanted American forces to keep retaking the same ground and then lose it again in the jungles. A ridiculous strategy by all accounts. Make no mistake, real American fighters would love to engage a worthy opponent in battle. What you have seen since WWII is a largely "well-restrained" fighting force that is more concerned with "equality" and "feelings" instead of what it takes to win a war and utterly defeat an enemy. This is a debilitating "sedative" that is stuck in the vein of America's Armed Forces, but, make no mistake, the intravenous drip would be utterly removed if America was faced with a real threat and the "real" American fighters would be unleashed. The words of General George S. Patton are still as true today as they were then even though it is not in vogue according to current American "politically correct" values:
"Men, this stuff some sources sling around about America wanting to stay out of the war and not wanting to fight is a lot of baloney! Americans love to fight, traditionally. All real Americans love the sting and clash of battle. America loves a winner. America will not tolerate a loser. Americans despise a coward, Americans play to win."
The answer: Real American fighters do not let down their veterans, it is the cowardly politicians and their cowardly supporters, largely intellectuals, who, after benefiting from those veteran's struggles, seek to punish them for being patriotic and more valorous then they. You see, these cowards do not look death in the face, in spite of their fears, and press on anyway. These cowards do not, after believing that they will die, accept their deadly fate and chose to have their enemy take every inch from them, but refuse to give any ground as a real fighter does. These cowards cannot inspire others by the very gravity of their being that a real fighter possesses because has grown such gravity through his struggles and sacrifices in battle. These cowards cannot compete with real fighters, so their resentful spirits do what is in their very nature: they seeks to punish those with the quality that they can never have: a Noble Spirit.
