A 1-month-old baby was found dead Friday, June 1, 2012, in the trunk of a car in Florida, and the boy's father, Janus Saintil, 24, has been taken into custody.
A Florida man is being held without bond in the death of his 1-month-old son, who was found in the trunk of a car.

Janus Saintil was being held Saturday at the Broward County jail on charges of murder, kidnapping and other counts.

The Broward Sheriff's Office says Saintil kidnapped the baby's mother, another woman and a man on Thursday. He allegedly left the adults in Port St. Lucie and returned to Broward County with the baby.

The baby's body was found Friday after Saintil parked the car next to a police officer. Coral Springs police Lt. Joe McHugh identified the baby as Saintil's son, Josiah Saintil.

Jail records did not show whether Saintil had an attorney.

Eaton Center mall
A gunman fired shots in a busy food court in one of Canada's busiest malls Saturday killing one man and injuring eight, police said.

Toronto police constable Victor Kwong said two people were in critical condition. He said the person who was killed died at the scene. Some of the injuries came when people were trampled on and pushed. He said the suspect had not been apprehended.

Witnesses said multiple shots were fired in the food court in Toronto's downtown Eaton Centre and that hundreds of panicked shoppers sprinted for the exits. The mall was evacuated.

Swarms of people watched from outside as an injured man with visible bullet wounds was wheeled out on a stretcher.

Toronto Blue Jays baseball player Brett Lawrie tweeted that he sprinted out of the mall after hearing the shots.

Wayne Carter allegedly stabbed himself with a knife (not pictured) and then threw bits of his flesh at cops.
A New Jersey man allegedly cut out his entrails in front of police and then threw bits of his flesh and intestines at them.

The gruesome scene played out at a home in Hackensack, N.J., where 43-year-old Wayne Carter allegedly barricaded himself in on Sunday, NBC New York reported.

Officers got a call that morning when a witness said Carter was threatening to harm himself with a knife. Two cops responded, kicked in the door and found Carter in the corner, the station reported.

Carter allegedly ignored officers' orders to put down the knife, and instead began stabbing himself in the abdomen, neck and legs.

An attempt to pepper spray the bleeding man had no effect, the Associated Press reported.

Olympic battle: Londoners to form human shield to keep missiles from homes

Residents in east London have threatened to form human barricades to prevent missiles being installed on the rooftops of their homes for the Olympic Games.

Six sites in east London have been earmarked for the deployment of Rapier and Starstreak missiles, each with a range of over three miles and capable of travelling at three times the speed of sound.

During the Olympics, London will have more soldiers on the streets than at any time since the Second World War and that there will be more armed personnel patrolling the capital than the entire number of British troops serving in Afghanistan. This amounts to far more security than was in place at the Beijing Olympics.

Critics claim there has been a militarization of London in the run up to the games. Inhabitants of an upmarket gated development in the upmarket Bow Quarter, announced at the meeting on Thursday night that they would do everything in their power to stop the deployment of the missiles.

Morgan student charged in dismemberment of man left disturbing online trail

Alexander Kinyua, 21, of Joppatowne has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault in the death of Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie. Harford County Sheriffs Office investigators suspect body parts found Wednesday morning in Joppatowne are those of Agyei-Kodie.
Alexander Kinyua, a 21-year-old Morgan State University student, has been charged in the killing and dismemberment in Harford County of a 37-year-old man, and while not much was immediately known about the circumstances of the crime, Kinyua's online trail points to a troubled young man.

Just five days ago on a Kenyan website, a post from his parents showed that he had been arrested following what they described as a fight in his dormitory room:

"Our son, Alexander Kimanthi Kinyua, was arrested on Saturday, May 19th, for being involved in a fight in his dormitory room at Morgan State University. The charge against him is "1st Degree Assault and Excessive Endangerment of Life". His bail has been set for US $220,000.00. In order to get him the best defense possible, we need to secure an attorney who will take his case and leave no stone unturned."

Court records on the state's Judiciary Case Search web site confirm the charges, and show Kinyua, who appears to have no prior record, was able to post bond on May 23rd and was released. Kinyua's address is listed in the 500 block of Terrapin Terrace in Joppa, the same listed as the address for the slaying victim, Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei- Kodie.

The connection between the two men was not known Wednesday night. Late Wednesday, a man who answered a phone at the number listed told The Sun's Kevin Rector that his parents, Antony and Beatrice Kinyua, were "resting," and that the family did not wish to speak to the media without an attorney present.

In the days prior to the arrest, he had posted several strange messages on his Facebook page, in all capital letters. In two of the posts, he uploaded "QR Codes," those bar code images that lead you to a web page when you hover a smart phone over them. They both led to the following message:

Increasing unstable and psychopathic behavior: Palm Coast man accused of strangling kitten, biting lips off another

A Palm Coast man is accused of strangling, or otherwise killing at least one kitten, and biting the lips off another, according to a Flagler County Sheriff's report.

Angel Vega Roman, 28, is charged with cruelty to animals. He was arrested Saturday on warrant for the abuse, which occurred earlier in May, the report states.

Roman, according to the report, confessed to an acquaintance that "he accidentally choked a kitten" a couple of weeks ago that belonged to roommates, according to the report. He also told the man "he bit the lips off one of the kittens and burnt its ear and whiskers with a lighter."

The man called both the kittens' owners and authorities.

Deputies went to the Burton Place home on May 20 and spoke with Roman, who said that "he has been depressed lately because his girlfriend is gone and that is why he harmed the animals," the report states. Roman was taken into protective custody under a Baker Act.

Amanda Dunn tried to breastfeed her four week old son Kaiden at a parenting room in Ballarat on Tuesday.
A Geelong mother says she feels disgusted that she was asked to pay to breastfeed her four-week-old son, Kaiden, in a parenting room inside a Ballarat pharmacy.

On Tuesday, Highton's Amanda Dunn was told she could not use the Baby Club room inside UFS Dispensaries in Bridge Mall free of charge.

Instead, she was told she could feed and change her firstborn child in front of others inside the store.

"How can anyone refuse a new mother, or any mother at that, access to a parenting room?" Ms Dunn, 22, said.

"Breastfeeding in public is so controversial these days, I was scared of people coming up to me in the store.

Report Exposes 'Sexting' Between Coach, Student

Las Vegas, Nevada - A Silverado High School softball coach and a 17-year-old student carried on a relationship for months and exchanged sexually explicit text messages and photos until the girl's father found out what was going on.

That's according to the arrest report for 43-year-old Albert Hernandez, who faces six felony counts, including sex between a school employee and student and production and distribution of child pornography.

"They were in a sexual relationship since the end of January. Yes, it was consensual, but that doesn't make it right," said Sgt. Darnell Couthen with CCSD police.

The legal age of consent in Nevada is 16, but any sexual relationship between a student and school employee is illegal.

The two began exchanging text messages in December 2011, many documented in the police report.

"U were so sweet and luscious... My gosh!!!" Hernandez wrote in one text, according to the report.

In another text, police said, Hernandez requested photos of the girl, saying, "I need pictures... I'm horny."

The teen told police Hernandez requested specific photographs "with underwear and without," and one text from Hernandez requested, "Just lift your blouse and bra and take a picture of your breasts."

Panel Slams Report Saying Norway Killer Sane, Experts Doubt Suicide Attack

Accused Norwegian Anders Behring Breivik gestures between his defence team Vibeke Hein Baera, left, and Odd Ivar Groen, at the courtroom, in Oslo, Norway.
Oslo - Forensic scientists have criticized a report that says confessed mass killer Anders Behring Breivik was sane when he massacred 77 people last year in a bomb attack and shooting spree.

In a letter published Friday, the Norwegian Board of Forensic Medicine questioned why that report had not taken into account "important information" provided by the killer's mother, who said that her son's behaviour changed dramatically a year before the July 22 attacks.

Meanwhile, experts testifying in court threw doubt on Breivik's claim that his lethal rampage was a planned suicide attack.

Breivik's mental state is the key issue of his ongoing trial and will determine his sentencing.

If found guilty and criminally sane, he would face 21 years in prison, though he could be held longer if deemed dangerous to society. If declared insane, he would be committed to compulsory psychiatric care.

Two psychological examinations carried out before Breivik's terror and murder trial started in mid-April reached opposite conclusions on the 33-year-old's sanity.

Information provided by the mother was central to the first report, which found Breivik psychotic at the time of his rampage. The second report declared him sane, but said he suffers from personality disturbances.
