A hoverboard is suspected to have caused the devastating Pennsylvania house fire that claimed the life of a 4-year-old girl and left two others in critical condition.

The Harrisburg fire was reported shortly before 8pm local time. Officials made an announcement Saturday that five people in total had to be rescued from the inferno, with one of them jumping from the second story of the building.

A 4-year-old girl is now reported to have succumbed to her injuries, report LeHigh Valley Live.

Two other girls are still in critical condition at Leigh Valley Hospital Burn Center. A teenage boy and his father were also treated for smoke inhalation but have since been released.

New survey shows 7 out of 10 workplaces are affected by opioid abuse

office stress
Prescription drug abuse has seeped into the American workplace, with 70 percent of businesses saying it affects their workers, a new survey reveals.

The National Safety Council report also found that while 71 percent of employers believe that abuse of opioid prescription painkillers is a disease that requires treatment, 65 percent also consider it a justifiable reason to fire a worker.

"Employers must understand that the most dangerously misused drug today may be sitting in employees' medicine cabinets," said Deborah Hersman, president and CEO of the safety council.

" Even when they are taken as prescribed, prescription drugsand opioids can impair workers and create hazards on the job. We hope these findings prompt employers to take the lead on this emerging issue so that workplaces can be as safe as possible," she added in a safety council news release.

But the survey findings showed that employers have a long way to go on this front.

Only 19 percent of employers said they felt "extremely prepared" to deal with prescription drug abuse in their workplace, only 13 percent were "very confident" that workers could spot signs of misuse, and 76 percent do not offer training on the topic.

Government intrusion: Oregon couple forced to destroy their pond because government ruled it illegal

Oregon Couple Forced To Destroy Their Pond
© Daily Sheeple The 2-acre pond is a vital source of water for an array of wildlife.
A couple from Oregon have been told that they must destroy a 2-acre pond on their land because the government said they have to. The pond on Jon and Sabrina Carey's 10-acre property near Butte Falls is the land's most attractive feature and has been in place for 40 years. In an interview with the Mail Tribune, Jon became teary-eyed as he stood next to the pond and said, "I basically bought a lemon. That's how they explained it to me." The couple, who purchased the property two and a half years ago, are desperate to keep this feature intact, and therefore have "pleaded with the Medford Water Commission to adopt the pond and treat it as a municipal water source, something Jackson County Watermaster Larry Menteer has opposed because of the precedent it would set. The Water Commission has rights to the watershed around the Careys' property, where dozens, if not hundreds, of ponds are located, as well as Medford's primary source of water, Big Butte Springs", reports the Mail Tribune.

Others in the area have also had trouble with water ownership in the past. Eagle Point resident Gary Harrington spent 90 days in jail for illegally harboring around 13 million gallons of illicit rainwater, according to reports. This happened after he crafted several ponds on his property and insisted that the water would assist in fire control and prevention. However, the government was not satisfied with his justification since a "1925 state law dictates that the water belongs to the Medford Water Commission."

It was love at first leak!

"Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson has gone from slow motion runs on the beach to mysterious late night visits to the embassy where WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is holed up.

Anderson was most recently spotted entering the Ecuadorian safe space in London Thursday night wearing a camel overcoat, snug black top — and either a really short skirt, or no pants at all.

Anderson, 49, is a regular at the facility, coyly smiling for photographers as she struts inside to see Assange, 45, whose rogue outfit has dumped some of the US government's most closely guarded secrets.

Taxpayers in the US will stop paying for "Planned Parenthood" abortions, and the liberal left is FREAKING out!

protests abortion rights
President Trump has threatened to cut federal funding to women's clinics unless they agree to stop abortions.

Tucker Carlson, and pro-choice advocate Jehmu Greene, debate the potential implications of such an order.

This central issue is not whether abortion is legal. The central issue is whether abortion production lines like "Planned Parenthood" should be funded by US tax dollars.

Should US citizens fund "Planned Parenthood"?

That's the question Fox News' Tuck Carlson asks liberal left ideologue Jehmu, for which lots of dodging and name calling gave way to no logical, coherent answer from the former "Planned Parenthood" board member.

Richard Gere has lashed out at Israel over its settlements in territory that Palestinians want for a state.

The "Pretty Woman" star came to Jerusalem for the local premiere of a new film by Israeli writer-director Joseph Cedar in which he stars.

A story in Sunday's Haaretz newspaper quoted the actor as saying "settlements are such an absurd provocation ... and they are certainly not part of the program of someone who wants a genuine peace process."

The international community mostly considers settlements illegal and an obstacle to peace. Israel says settlements along with other core issues like security should be resolved in peace talks.

Child rapist Roman Polanski will return to the US to end his four-decade legal case, but only if a judge says beforehand that he has already paid for the sex crime, legal documents have shown.

The director's attorney wants an LA judge to unseal details of a 1977 plea deal, which he says only required Polanski to serve 48 days for raping Samantha Geimer when she was 13 years old.
