Just how dystopian can Starmer's Britain become?

While Starmer's government is trying to expand the powers of the British State, it is using powers it already has — namely anti-terrorism laws — to arrest and intimidate pro-Palestinian journalists, activists and protesters.

After his election victory in July, which by the UK's first-past-the-post system gave his party a disproportionate majority in parliament (h/t Vesa), Keir Starmer promised that his new Labour government would "tread more lightly" on the lives of voters. It is one of a multitude of pledges Starmer has broken in just his first four months in office, during which time his approval rating has suffered the biggest post-election fall of any British prime minister in the modern era. It's worth recalling that his government's massive parliamentary majority represents just about 20 per cent of the eligible electorate.

As the veteran journalist Peter Oborne warned in 2023, "you would be very unwise to believe a word Starmer ever says."

Moscow reacts to Trump's vow to 'stop wars'

The Republican has acknowledged that the US needs to focus on its own problems, Maria Zakharova has said.

US presidential election winner Donald Trump's promise to end international conflicts should be backed up by concrete actions once he returns to the White House, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.

During his speech on Wednesday in which he declared victory in the US election, Trump also stated that during his first term from 2017 to 2021 "we had no wars, except we defeated ISIS (Islamic State/IS)." The 78-year-old dismissed claims by his opponents that he would "start a war" once he returns to office. "I am not going to start a war. I am going to stop wars," the Republican insisted.

When asked to comment on Trump's promise, Zakharova told the Russia 24 TV channel that "of course, those theses must be followed by actions, concrete actions."

According to the spokeswoman, the international community will judging Trump's second presidency based on what he does, rather than what he says. She also suggested that Trump's promise to end foreign wars was an acknowledgment that the US needs to focus on its own problems.

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev reacted to Trump's victory by pointing out:
"He has 'one useful quality' for Russia. As a businessman to the core, he hates spending money on various freeloaders, which includes the government in Ukraine."

The tech mogul told Tucker Carlson that he will slash the number of federal agencies if he becomes part of the new administration.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has said he will seek to improve government efficiency by reducing the number of federal agencies if he is given a role in Donald Trump's administration.

Musk, a staunch Trump supporter, made the remarks during an appearance on Tucker Carlson's online show broadcast from Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate on Tuesday, the day of the election.

Despite initially proclaiming political neutrality, Musk officially endorsed Trump after the first assassination attempt in July and has since become a major supporter of the former president. Trump promised the Tesla CEO that he would establish a special "government efficiency" commission, dubbed the DOGE, to be headed by the billionaire if he wins the election.

American liberals lose their minds over Trump's victory live on air

The Mail has an initial round-up of prominent figures in the liberal media becoming visibly upset - or angry - as the news sunk in last night that Donald Trump was going to win the US Presidential election. Expect much more of these compilations over the coming days.

Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election provoked an anguished reaction from the left liberal news media and Kamala Harris supporters.

MSNBC commentator Joy Reid launched a tirade live on air as Florida turned out overwhelmingly in favour of Trump, slamming voters and describing the state as being under the power of an extremist, right-wing, fascist-type government. Becoming more irate, she said: "Think about the last two weeks and the things that Donald Trump has said into the TV that people could hear him say and do. The vulgarity in front of families with young children and the threats to do mass deportation and a violent start to his dictatorship on day one, you name it."

Reid told her fellow MSNBC panelists that she couldn't fathom that Trump was securing support from half the population in spite of his often controversial stances. "If all of that gets you half of the votes... what does it tell you? We need to really take a step back and think about what does that say about us."

After Florida was called for Trump early in the evening, Reid said: "It's a pure Project 2025 in miniature in Florida. That extremist sort of right-wing, fascist type government in Florida, does that make it more of an attractive place?"

Google admits voting feature favored Harris over Trump

The tech giant failed to provide voters with data on where to vote for the Republican.

Google has admitted that its search engine provided US voters with data on where they could vote for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris but failed to inform them of where they could cast a ballot for Republican Donald Trump.

Social media users noticed that when the phrase "Where can I vote for Harris?" was entered into Google, they were allowed to input their address to determine the closest voting location and refer to an interactive map of polling stations. However, if they typed in "Where can I vote for Trump?" no such information was given, and the user was only offered news stories about the election.

The discrepancy triggered a barrage of criticism, including from X owner and Trump supporter Elon Musk, who posted on his platform: "Are others seeing this too?" Some users were quick to accuse Google of spreading "leftist trash propaganda" and of being guilty of "election interference."

Trump wins US presidential election, sends 'Trumpquake' through Washington

Former US President Donald Trump has secured a second term in office, leading US media outlets have reported, after officials in Wisconsin confirmed that the Republican candidate has won the state.

The win delivered ten electoral college votes to Trump, bringing him over the threshold of 270. He claimed victory hours earlier, predicting that he would also win the popular vote once the final tally is made.

Wisconsin was one of the key battleground states in this election cycle, potentially flipping for either of the two candidates. The results of several of these swing states largely determine who wins the election. Under the country's political system, all electoral votes from each state go to the winner.

Comment: Time to Make America Great Again! Questions remain, however, as to whether there are some shenanigans yet to come that keeps Trump out of office or how the Deep State will choose to hamstring his presidency. But a symbolic victory, the American people rejecting the Deep State and its puppet, is still something to celebrate.

Trump promises to 'stop wars'

The Republican presidential nominee has touted a strong US military that needs not be used

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has told supporters, following his successful US election campaign, that he has no taste for starting wars. The 45th, and likely 47th, US president claimed victory as projections showed that he was on course to secure the 270 electoral votes needed to secure the White House.

Trump pledged that his second administration would usher in a new "golden age of America."

While his celebratory speech focused on domestic policies, Trump also said the country needs "a strong and powerful military, and ideally we don't have to use it." During his first term from 2017 to 2021, he claimed "we had no wars" in the sense that the US engaged in virtually no new major armed conflicts.

"Four years we had no wars, except we defeated ISIS, we defeated ISIS in record time," he said, referring to the international military campaign in the Middle East against the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS).

"They said he will start a war. I'm not going to start a war. I'm going to stop wars," Trump added.

Comment: Peace is not something the military complex is interested in and thus it is no wonder that there were three attempts to kill Donald Trump. The time between now and the inauguration in 2025 will likely be a tumultuous time with some interest groups wishing to saddle Trump with another war and increased chaos.

Portents of Chaos

At this moment it is hard to locate the limit of what either of the two main political parties in the U.S. will do to avoid losing.

Uh-oh. The New York Times is picking up its familiar theme now that the Nov. 5 elections are but a few days out front: Those mal-intended foreigners are again "sowing discord and chaos in hopes of discrediting American democracy," it reported in a piece published Tuesday.

The Beelzebubs haunting this political season, when everything would otherwise be orderly and altogether copacetic among Americans, are Russia, China and Iran.

Why can't this year's version of the old, reliable "Axis of Evil" leave us alone with our "democratic process," the one the rest of the world envies and resents? Troublemakers, with all their "sowing." You could probably call them "garbage" and get away with it.

The real US war aims in Ukraine: The revassalization of Europe

graphic missile ukraine europe deindustrialization
Europe is being weakened by this war, even if its elites have enriched themselves through various non-productive schemes.

The United States, in its grand geopolitical maneuvering regarding Ukraine, must have been fully cognizant of the improbability of dismantling Russia's military strength or eroding its political coherence through conventional warfare or economic sanctions. Such a feat would seem at first to be an exercise in folly, and based on the miscalculations of Western leaders, particularly those surrounding the power vectors of Washington DC, Wall Street, and the City of London. Russia, with its immense territorial expanse, historical resilience, and strategic depth, is so highly unlikely to be brought to heel in such fashion, as evidenced by the results of the conflict, that it raises far more profound questions than one of mere folly. There are few accidents in politics, and by extension, geopolitics.

This nigh impossible task today, however, is in large part publicly justified by a false allusion to past precedent. As a consequence largely of the toll on Russia which was World War I, the Russian Revolution was the product of the intersection of social fatigue and geopolitical intrigue. But the inability of the Russian state at the time to offer much in the way of a viable alternative was the result, from the perspective of today, looking backwards, of the relative economic underdevelopment of the global East and global South.

Comment:

The process of vassalization is already complete as Germany's Schoz had to stand and grin as Biden tacitly announced the future demolition of Germany's principle source of energy, Russia's Nord Stream pipeline. Ironically, a second pipeline is intact and could be turned on tomorrow, but EU leadership is too whipped to make the deal.

Obama fueled 'Russia collusion' lies in secret White House meeting

obama
In 2022, Bloomberg's Jason Leopold obtained a transcript of a secret briefing that Barack Obama held with a group referred to in the transcript as "progressive journalists." The meeting took place during the final days of the Obama administration on January 17, 2017.

A Bloomberg article regarding the secret meeting focused on the part of the briefing in which Obama alleviated the journalist's concerns about a potential Trump presidency. Obama stated that a one-term Trump presidency was no big deal because Trump's breach of the "norms" could be remedied, whereas eight years of norm breaking posed a genuine threat.

Leopold later sent out a tweet promoting the Bloomberg article. It mentioned that he would post the transcript; however, it was only posted a few days ago. Many thanks to our friend Stephen McIntyre for bringing it to our attention.
