Society's Child
Cleese is working on a stage production of Monty Python's "Life of Brian," a 1979 movie about a man who is mistaken for Jesus Christ. However, actors allegedly told Cleese that one scene would need to be cut out of the reproduction for it not to be offensive in today's social environment.
The scene in question features a character named "Stan" - who wants to become a woman and have babies.
"I want to be a woman," Stan declares. "From now on, I want you all to call me Loretta."
Cleese's character Reg bewilderedly asked, "What?"
Stan fires back, "It's my right as a man."
When asked why he wants to be a woman, Stan explains, "I want to have babies."
Reg quizzically replies, "You want to have babies?"
Stan shoots back, "It's every man's right to have babies if he wants them."
When Reg informs Stan that he "can't have babies," Stan plays the victim, "Don't you oppress me."
Cleese's character notes, "I'm not oppressing you, Stan, you haven't got a womb. Where's the fetus going to gestate? You gonna keep it in a box?"
Other characters agree that Stan can't have babies, but argue that he should have the "right to have babies."
Reg responds, "What's the point of fighting for his right to have babies when he can't have babies?"
Another character says, "It is symbolic of our struggle against oppression."
Reg quips that Stan has a "struggle with reality" for thinking he can give birth to a baby.
Critics claim the scene in the movie from 44 years ago is "transphobic."
Despite the controversy, Cleese confirmed that he would not be removing the questionable scene from the upcoming stage show of "Life of Brian."
Cleese wrote on Twitter, "A few days ago I spoke to an audience outside London. I told them I was adapting the Life of Brian so that we could do it as a stage show ( NOT a musical ). I said that we'd had a table reading of the latest draft in NYC a year ago and that all the actors - several of them Tony winners - had advised me strongly to cut the Loretta scene. I have, of course, no intention of doing so."
Cleese slammed the media for "misreporting" him about cutting the Loretta scene from the new version, "Amazingly none of the British media called to check."
Cleese said of the actors in the upcoming production, "These were absolutely top-class Broadway performers and they were adamant that we would not get away with doing the scene in NYC! I asked them, 'Are Python fans not going to come because we're doing a scene they've been laughing at for 40 years.'"
The Monty Python comedian said, "Producers tend to be scaredy-cats, and they don't remember that the protests in NYC when 'Brian' was released meant we never needed to do publicity!"

The joke is already out - just like an idea...
once it is out, it is out...
no holding it back if it resonates...if it don't, then it don't, but once it is out, it is out.

Be well Buffalo Ken. Be well.
If you think so, you must be clueless.
If you can't handle history
you must be pathetic.
If you are pathetic
what makes you
think you can

again, they got no basic understanding of language. Trans means above, across, or beyond.
they are none of that.
Above genderAcross genderBeyond gender?
what they are beyond is belief that they demand people to share in the delusion.
they used to just be called fops or tomboys.
Joan...this is what Ken was referring to...(Ken, time to freshen up on Python) [Link]

Thousands of lives were lost because of this ideology. Look it up
I could see being called trans averse, but transphobic?
id be willing to bet no one being labeled such is actually afraid of them personally.
The morons calling people that are numbnut nimwits.
how could a person expect someone who doesn't even have a basic understanding of language to have a basic understanding of the realities of biology though.
If you call someone transphobic you belong in the back of the short bus 🚐
id be willing to say that transpeople are way more afraid of straights and gays. Paranoid delusionals they are, transpeople.
I don't give a flip what you do in your bedroom...do as you please...dress as you please...present yourself however you want to, but if you bring your ideology upon the children and you want to approve jabs for the kids - then I take offense at that, so don't be surprised if there is a response forceful.
And to my mind. men are men and women are women, and the science backs that up. Even with DNA testing, regardless of how that individual presents themselves.
So it begs the question, what does the term transphobic really mean?
Buffalo_Ken I agree I don't give a shit until it's portrayed as a sane option or a normalcy. If you can't admit you're a freak you got no business being one.sbc
That was in the 70's, how times have changed.
I did have the opportunity, to care for a women/man in the UK that had, had a double mastectomy and hysterectomy, all on the NHS.. She presented as a male person, on a male dominated healthcare ward, but she wasn't fooling anybody, or the men on that unit, which was male, in fact she was in a side unit sequestered from the men.,,,
At that time it was questioned, why she did not go to the the middle East, where it was believed, such surgeries, were carried out.
Now such surgeries are carried out on young people, simply because have been mind controlled to believe they are born into the wrong gender.
Just an anecdotal experience, and a senior that is a social keeper of memory.
.
What a big joke europe is....
I'm pretty sure that was the theme of that skit....I agree.

The (qualified) Spanish Inquisition has been celebrated for its nastiness. It was to root out crypto-Muslims and crypto-Jews from Spain. Spain finally completed the reconquista of the Iberian peninsula around 1492 (yes, THAT year), and then officially told all Muslims and Jews to either convert to Christianity or leave. After that pivotal event of tolerance and diversity (when everyone in the country should have been/become a Christian), there was a concern that some of the newly converted (formerly muslims or jews) were less than sincere in their new faith. The proper terms are crypto-Muslim and crypto-Jew: ie; one who is outwardly Christian (or some other faith) but who secretly continues to practice their "former" faith in secret.
If you remember: Muslims were at first persecuted for their new faith (during the initial ministry of Muhammad), when their numbers were small. I believe it is in the Hadith, that although lieing is a sin, Muslims are forgiven or allowed to lie about their faith, if their life is at stake. At that time, it was considered more important to spread the faith and to continue worshipping Allah in the methods as revealed by Muhammad. [ I'm not Muslim. Please, someone who knows better, feel free to correct any errors I've made in the above report. ]
The Muslims were in the Iberian peninsula (Spain / Portugal) by the Moorish Conquest from the 700's till their expulsion in 1492. The Jews were historically tolerated by the Muslims as fellow "People of the Book", and existed in almost all Muslim countries in a state of peaceful coexistance (but subject to extra non-believer tax), until the formation of the modern state of Israel and the various Arab-Israeli wars. Christians were also considered "People of the Book", also tolerated in Muslim countries (subject to extra non-believer tax). The Crusades to recapture the Holy Land put a strain on Christian-Muslim relations that continues to this day.
In closing: Monty Python is funny! :D
I think disclosure is important, to give a balanced perspective, and truth to the narrative.
I did mention Pagan religious belief systems and not specifically Muslims
Who would have thought that such an absurd joke is overtaken by reality - during our lifetimes
We live in truly interesting times. Enjoy every moment ...
FOR WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Men wish to become women, because then they get a better deal from the government.
Children wish to become fucked up transistors because then they get a better deal from government.
It's as plain as the chancre on your dick.
Or the pig in the air, floating above your head.
